Devastation. What devastation?
Click on the picture for a larger map. Notice how small the area is that the bombing focused on. About the size of three race tracks.
You wouldn’t know it from the televised images.

Beirut Destruction Not Exactly What It Appears To…
Israpundit has a map that shows the location of IDF strikes against Beirut. The impression left by the media is, unsurprisingly, incomplete. It is probably small comfort to those outside the Hezbollah neighborhoods to see this: the rumble of a bomb i…..

[…] However, just one map can sweep that myth aside. It is (so far) one neighbourhood, Dahiye, Hezbollah’s command centre, being bombed by the Israelis. And the one crucial piece of the puzzle that is conveniently excised from the story is that the Israelis leafleted the area before bombing to tell civilians to move out of the area - hardly an intention to commit mass-murder of civilians. Just compare that one Israeli action to Hezbollah, who don’t warn any Israeli civilians before firing rockets into built-up urban areas. [hat tip: Israpundit.com - larger map available there] […]

TikvahRick Asks:
Israeli’s tragic act of war or Hezbollah’s using of children and women as shields?
Worldwide media painting Israel as targeting children and women in Lebanon while ignoring the fact of Hezbollah holding Lebanese children and women as human shields, at location of Hezbollah’s terrorist rocket launchings at Israel.
Although no mainstream media mention has been made of Hezbollah hiding their missile launch positions behind the skirts of Lebanese women and the playground area of Lebanese children, endless repeats of liberal media headlines and TV /Radio news updates continue to hammer away with words like “Israeli airstrikes leveled a building in the southern Lebanese town of Qana, killing at least 56 people”*.
It is long past-time to insist on honesty and fair, unbiased reporting by the US and worldwide media, the United Nations and by the liberal left of our world.

Really hate to rain on your parade, but the map is far from being a reasonable representation. Whoever made it apparently wasn’t aware that the airport is in the south, and not in the downtown. If they couldn’t even get that right, what does it say for the quality of the other information? Hardly a basis on which to make sweeping conclusions.
