MoveOn.org and “Jew Lieberman”

by Bill Levinson

“JEW LIEBERMAN DONE. CORPORATE CLINTON IS NEXT…” reads the heading of a post on MoveOn.org’s discussion board. Not only that, the post receives a score of 12, with “75% agreeing” with the use of the phrase “Jew Lieberman.” We must identify all politicians who willfully associate with MoveOn.org and reject them as anti-Semites and possibly agents of shadowy international financier and convicted inside trader George Soros.

MoveOn.org is also on record as supporting Ned Lamont, who consorts openly with a proven racist and anti-Semite (Al Sharpton) whose entourage uses phrases like “bloodsucking Jews,” “Jew bastards,” “diamond merchants,” “white interlopers,” and “cracker lovers” while reenacting the Night of the Broken Glass or setting Jewish-owned stores on fire.

An associate sent me some postings from MoveOn.org’s discussion board, which shows exactly where these people are coming from.

Note that even an ultra-leftist like Nancy Pelosi is too conservative for these people. Maybe the fact that she would probably not betray our country to a hostile foreign power for money– her only redeeming feature– makes her unacceptable to MoveOn.org. There are, however, some very decent people in the Democratic Party as shown here:

3. RE: JEW LIEBERMAN DONE. CORPORATE CLINTON IS NEXT…

The fact that this post was not removed by the moderators of MoveOn’s Action Forum really irritates me, because it is patently anti-Semitic. But what makes it even worse is that the post has received a 70% approval rating.

I have heard and read on several other blogs, and even in a couple of newspaper editorials that MoveOn.org has been accused of anti-Semitism, but this puts no doubt in my mind it is true!

And don’t use that tired veil of an argument saying that just because you hate Israel doesn’t mean you hate Jews.

Joe Lieberman is a fine American and has served the Democratic Party well. Even if one does not agree with his politics anymore, there is absolutely no reason to defame his name by calling him “Jew” Lieberman. An what’s worse it is shocking that 7 out of 10 people on this forum agree to this kind of ethnic slander and intolerance. I am ashamed I ever joined this political movement.

1. Shane Miles RE: JEW ——–

We need your help in finding a word that is less offensive.

One that describes the Jewish congressmen and Jewish owned media that has a greater allegiance to Israel than the US. And who are demonizing Israel’s neighbors and supporting Israel’s bombing and occupation.

Read “Israeli Lobby” google it.

I will pledge allegiance to America when JEWS and CONSERVATIVES are willing to sacrifice their love ones as they and you are willing to sacrifice “PEOPLE of COLOR”. Russia’s President told you correctly, when he stated his country did not want Iraq style democracy. All PEOPLE of COLOR and MUSLIMS should resent America’s style of democracy. http://www.outbush2005.blogspot.com

We note that Tsar Vladimir Putin said something about “managed democracy” in his own country, and we can see why he does not want the kind of democracy that our country has brought to Iraq.

The following post was, however, voted to the bottom by MoveOn’s community. We are re-posting it here as an act of intentional and willful disrespect for MoveOn.org and everything it represents.

Suicide Bomb Yourselves, Leave the Rest of Us Alone

That is the poster I wanted to be holding at the recent rally in San Francisco, but I was unable to go. I am posting this in response to Peter Ryan’s August 15 post, “Always Israel.” I know I will get a lot of flak for making this post, but I have to say what is true in my heart and what so many people fear to say. “Always Israel” is bull when it refers to the “new left” (NL) that is so outspoken these days. Rather, it is most chic and fashionable to always be against Israel, and this is wrong.

The Israelis don’t deserve to live in a country where suicide bombers are REGULARLY KILLING their children any more than any other people on this planet do. The INCREDIBLY RACIST HATRED of the Israelis is what is fueling the vast majority of the violence in our world today. (Mel Gibson has it backwards.)

Neither do the Lebanese peopole deserve to be bombed. Nor do airplane passengers flying over the Atlantic. But it is just PLAIN STUPID to think that the incredible hatred of extremist Muslims is not a great danger to the world.

And if the Lebanese think it is o.k. to have killers like the Hezbollah in their midst and do nothing about it, then they should expect that the Hezbollah’s presence will endanger their lives. The Hezbollah and other killer extremists need to be disarmed and controlled. They have no right to continue to kill, yet that is what they have been doing for decades. And anyone that defends them is REPUGNANT.

Give thanks that we do support Israel. And there should be zero tolerance of the hatred that is so common in Muslim countries around the world, as that is what leads to the kind of killing that we have today in Iraq and Lebanon.

So the fashionable, chic thing in the NL of hating Israel and always being pro-Palestinian is bull. There should be peace for all countries of the world. I think the Israelis have been working towards that, and so were the Lebanese. But unfortunately, the extremist groups, such as Hezbollah and Al Queda, continue to kill and threaten, and they need to be stopped.

It won’t be easy, and there is no easy solution, but to me it is pretty clear that people that are PROUD to send their children to die as suicide bombers are really being brainwashed. They need some help in their thinking. The last thing they need is for American leftists’ to side with them because it is COOL.

SUICIDE BOMB YOURSELVES, LEAVE THE REST OF US ALONE !!!

The best thing that can happen in today’s world is to stop these extremists, and stop them teaching their hatred and brainwashing of young Muslims who don’t have any other frame of reference other than the hatred that PERVADES their culture.

Another BIG PROBLEM with the NL is their distrust of the media. And I see some of this in the postings on MoveOn. Yeah, there is some bad reporting out there, but there is a lot more REALLY GOOD REPORTING. (I say this as a former reporter and graduate of UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.) And what I see more of in the NL is IGNORANCE, because unfortunately it has become chic to not read newspapers, and rather rely on really shallow and ignorant news from internet sources that are really no more than people writing their opinions and not really doing reporting at all.

If you want to know what’s going on in the world you should listen to Christian Amanpour who COURAGEOUSLY goes to these very dangerous places and does real reporting. (AMAZING reporting. CNN and many other sources.) Or you should watch 60 Minutes, like last Sunday’s interview of the president of Iran by Mike Wallace. There are SO MANY amazing reporters that put their lives on the line to try and keep us informed. It makes me SICK that the NL is SO often flippant and SO ignorant in dismissing their good work.

If you really care about the world, PLEASE start picking up a newspaper and reading it. You don’t have to agree with everything, you just need to be informed. You won’t get it from the internet pseudonews or from “alternative” sources that do no real reporting in the Middle East.

That is how to really know what is going on in the world. And if you saw that interview, you would realize the extent of the hatred towards Israelis that exists right next door to them. And this guy is the president of Iran! It is awful. It would be as if we were being regularly bombed by Canada. So I have no idea as to where the NL has come off beating up on Israel over the past few years. MAYBE THAT’S WHY WE HAVE THE NEW WAR IN LEBANON.

We need to be stopping the hatred and stopping the violence. By following what is chic and staying ignorant, YOU ARE DOING NOTHING FOR PEACE.

Mara Anders, Berkeley, CA

P.S. I am not Jewish. I have been an active political activist pretty much all of my life, which is for many decades at this time. I have always been and will always be a leftist, and proud of it. This despite the NL, many of whose ideas I believe are based on ignorance and fashion.

Now here is what I just posted there, and it has already garnered one “disagree” vote.

Does Lamont want us “bloodsucking Jews” to vote for him?

Since Ned Lamont accepted the endorsement of the Reverend Al Sharpton and is openly consorting with him on his campaign tour, should my fellow “bloodsucking Jews,” “Jew b*****ds,” “diamond merchants,” and “white interlopers”* assume that Lamont does not want their votes and that they should vote for “Jew Lieberman” (to use the name seen here at MoveOn.org) or the Republican instead?

I have in fact posted a highly-visible article that cites Lamont’s association with the “Impresario of Hatred” and reminds readers of how Sharpton & Co. reenacted Krystallnacht (the Night of the Broken Glass) in Crown Heights NY where they lynched a Jew, and burned down a Jewish-owned store in Harlem while killing seven people. The dead included a Black security guard whom Sharpton’s people had derided as a “cracker lover”– a Black person who tolerates white people. It is in fact the Black supremacist equivalent of “nigger lover.”

I would also like to see Al Sharpton’s list of whites whom he says raped Tawana Brawley. I heard that Zorro and Casper the Friendly Ghost have joined Elvis Presley on the list.

Al Sharpton is the Black equivalent of David Duke. If Sharpton were to wake up one morning to find himself a Caucasian, he would doubtlessly be wearing a sheet by noon, burning a cross by sundown, and lynching Blacks or dragging them behind pickup trucks the same night. If Ned Lamont knowingly and willfully associates with this individual, he has disqualified himself from holding any position of public trust and responsibility whatsoever.

And yes, I have signed my real name to this post, just as I signed it to a letter to the editor in the Poughkeepsie Journal in 1988 when I denounced Sharpton (who was then holding his Tawana Brawley circus in Dutchess County) as a racist demagogue. Furthermore, he is a liar (as proven by a defamation suit from the Brawley affair) and without honor. The fact that Lamont associates with him says plenty about Lamont’s own character and integrity.

*A Google search for “Al Sharpton” and the religious/racial epithet in question, along with “cracker lover,” will confirm that Sharpton and/or his followers have used all of these terms in public.

Total number of responses: 1 Average importance rating: (1.0)
0% Agree 1 100%

1 100% Disagree

This shows the kind of people that MoveOn.org tends to attract: individuals who have no problem with racists, bigots, and anti-Semites like Al Sharpton = David Duke in blackface.

  6. Thank you Bill for bringing this to our attention.
Two forms of fascism the world today are ‘ideofascism’ and ‘Islamofascism’

A post from my blog regarging their unity:

    The Marriage of the Fascist

There are at present basically two main forms of fascism in the world today, and both seek domination. It seems strange that although they are diametrically opposed to each other, and in heart hate each other, they often find themselves on the same side of a cause or an issue. The likely reason for this engagement between radical Islam and modern liberalism is that even though they do not have the same ‘God,’ they share a common devil.

While the radical Islamic fascist holds a vision of the past, the radical leftist holds a vision for the future, so it is interesting that what keeps them from colliding head on is the present. It is necessary for both that the present establishments be removed in order to expand and build upon their empires. They must both realize that when current obstacles are removed they will undoubtedly be left confronting each other, however, each is confident in the outcome of that confrontation and therefore sees the other as a lesser foe than their present common enemies.

Fascism quite simply put is collectivism and is comprised of two parts; one being an authoritarian and the other its subordinates. Together they form one collective body which, for the collective good of itself, determines to assemilate or destroy all which are foreign.

Often competing forms of fascism will have the appearance of being polls apart and will vehemently oppose each other, when in actuality they share similar aspirations for a different cause. On the other hand, opposing forms of fascism may unite out of expediency in order to overcome a common enemy. If the common enemy is defeated a dividing conflict will inevitably ensue between the remaining factions in a struggle for domination.

I contend that extremist at both polls [Islam & Leftist] are fascist and that is why they have the same enemies and relate to them in the same way.

    Comment by RandyTexas UNITED STATES — August 16, 2006 @ 3:52 pm

  7. Addendum: Both the Islomofascist and the leftist Ideofascist are collectivist. Israel is incompatible with both of their aspirations and America as it exists is also.

Their common hatred unites them to the point that they even share propaganda and use the same talking points.

  8. Indeed as Bill has illuminated in this and other posts, the left has become hideous, and has been willing to compromise its own supposed values in order to align itself with islamic nazis. Sadly, the only thing the left stands for these days is its opposition to and hatred of America and Israel. But also as Bill has shown in some of the responses, there are decent people on the left willing to speak out against the hatred. I would also like to point out that the nutjobs don’t represent rank and file liberal and Democratic voters in America.

There are at least two “Democratic Parties.” The one in my area (Northeast Pennsylvania) is composed mostly of people from blue-collar or middle-class professional backgrounds. The Democrats owe their dominance to coal miners and other people who had to work very hard to earn their livings. Our Welsh, Polish, and Irish populations are largely the descendents of coal miners. We don’t have wealthy gigolos like John Kerry or rich men’s rich boys like Ted Kennedy around here.

Our Democrats generally try to stand up for middle-class working people. I have in fact voted for some myself and I am backing some Democrats for state office in November, because my own party’s candidates seem intellectually bankrupt.

The other party is the party of George Soros, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and Al Sharpton. The first three probably never did a lick of honest work in their lives or, if Soros did, he is also a convicted inside trader. Kennedy inherited millions from his rich daddy and John Kerry married John Heinz’ widow. While Pennsylvania Democrats include people who open and run small stores, Al Sharpton’s track record consists of burning stores down– or at least his followers burn down small businesses like Freddy’s Fashion Market.

Quite frankly, I see the Democrats coming to a crisis point at which they may have to split their party to save it. Mainstream Democrats must sever the party of Soros, Kennedy, Kerry, and Sharpton just like a person may have to amputate a disease-ridden limb to save his life.

There is also more than one Republican Party and I have no use for the branch that focuses on nonissues like flag burning and so-called “intelligent design.”

  12. To conservajew,
Never be afraid of being a Jew. I grew up in a small town in Texas that had only five Jewish families and I had to fight a lot. I bled, but many of those I fought needed medical care.

I,now live in retirement, but I always wear my Star of David around my neck and a cap with the Star of David on it. Never has anyone caused me any embarassment; however, almost every time I go out, some ones says they support us and hope that the Israelis destroy the Islamists. I urge you to never be ashamed of who you are nor be afraid to let everyone know your proud of it.

  14. Shelley,

I want to tell you that I personally feel good about hearing you say that even though you are not Jewish, you support Israel, though from your writing I have known that for some time.

Still, your saying you support Israel and want to do something to make a difference makes me feel very good or more like it, great.

I am sure Ed can give you a suggestion and i will make a few, but I did chuckle at the phrasing of your question for it leaves open the option for you to wear nothing at all. Not practical but an option implied nonetheless.

We have been reading each other’s comments here and on C.C.D. for some time and even connecting in cyberspace with you is a feeling of a real connection. So much for the personal stuff.

Let me start by saying you are very knowledgable on the issues and knowledge is power.

If your friends, colleagues, associates, and people you just happen upon are like my contacts, only a few will have an understanding of the issues beyond the headline and first paragraph or two of a newspaper article or the brief slanted reporting on TV.

Several times I have overheard people talking about how while Hezbollah started the war and used innocent Lebanese as human shields, they could not get over the devastation and deaths of so called innocent Lebanese and thought Israel had gone to far and should have somehow avoided those civilian deaths and because they did not, Israel too was at fault. Further, they did not really understand the significance of Hezbollah using human shields.

When the topic came up, I listened, figured out what they were missing and discreetly filled in the blanks. Within a few seconds of your beginning to speak they immediately see you as knowledgeable and they usually will listen and be happy to leave the discussion with more knowledge than they had when they began.

I do not think you do not need to get on a soap box, though if you are also talented as a public speaker that might be an option.

My main suggestion is to be aware of opportunities to set people straight.

If you want to feel more involved, I expect there are some action groups that advocate for Israel where you live on the coast. You might call them to offer to volunteer your services.
You are a good writer Shelley and maybe they can use your talents and skills in that regard.

I am sure Ed will have more ideas and I will let him answer you further.

As always Shelley, it is good to talk to you again. Have a good evening.

    Regards,

    Bill

My point was that the traditonal Democrats come from working-class backgrounds or places where they might associate with working people. Kennedy and Kerry grew up in the world of private jets, $500/night hotels, and fancy estates. That is, George Soros’ world.

Comment by Bill Levinson UNITED STATES — August 16, 2006 @ 11:17 pm

  16. Ed,

I hear what you’re saying and agree completely. I never said anything about not being proud to be a Jew, nor did I mean to insinuate it. What I did mean was that every Jew needs to think before they act– there’s a fine line between being bold and being stupid. It’s all in picking your battles.

Besides, today’s younger generation lives in an era when Jew hatred isn’t spurred on by mere jewelry, but through simple identification. Just by calling myself a Jew, I was put “under the lens” and questioned as to “why are there so many of you in the media”– no Judaica necessary.

Today, public identification, or lack thereof, isn’t about being afraid to be a Jew. It’s about picking your battles, living to fight the important ones, and speaking out about Jewish identity when it counts. If I wear a piece of Judaica and get anything from a smartass remark to physically attacked, how is that going to solve the problem or do anything to help Israel or my people? A guy went into a JCC in Seattle not long ago and shot seven women, and less than a month later he gets a sidebar headline at the bottom of the page!

It’s a constant frustration– not being Jewish, but dealing with the actions of anti-Jews and Israel haters. But you can’t put yourself into a situation and then go off half-cocked every time someone makes a smart remark. It’s about being wise and fighting on the offensive, not the defensive. Again, I agree with you completely– I’m just saying that we have to tailor our strategy to address the wider problem. It’s nice that so many people feel the need to tell us that they support us if they see our Magen Davids– good, there are a lot of good guys. So… let’s spend more time killing the bad ones!

    Comment by conservajew UNITED STATES — August 17, 2006 @ 7:58 am

  17. Bill, oops! Wearing nothing at all is not an option for an old girl like me!

While the debate about Israel’s right to exist persists, the fact is she exists, today. What are the alternatives? There are only two: a one state solution or the murder and expulsion of all Jews from Israel, both of which would be unbearably tragic. Neither would the annihilation of Israel appease the Arab racists. They have many other fronts in their imperialistic war against the west and the destruction of Israel would only embolden them.

    Comment by Shelley CANADA — August 19, 2006 @ 4:53 pm

  18. Shelley,

If by a one state solution you mean that Israel would incorporate Gaza and the West Bank permanently into Israel along with Palestinians being induced, ie. bought off to leave for other lands, it is not an unbearably tragic solution at all.

As of now, it is as impossible for the West to wrap their minds around as it is impossible for the Palestinians (with the concurrence of their Arab supporters) to agree to anything with Israel that would not serve as a stepping stone to the ultimate destruction of Israel.

    Comment by Bill Narvey CANADA — August 19, 2006 @ 6:59 pm

  19. That is an option I didn’t consider because as you say, it’s not even on the table. I was thinking in terms of what it is that the Arabs really want, never mind the lie of the Arabs and most of the World that if Israel would just withdraw to the 1948 or 1967 borders there would be peace. I have thought that Israel should do just that in order to prove without a doubt that there won’t be peace, that nothing but the complete destruction of Israel, either by absorption into one state or expulsion, will satisfy the bloodthirsty, imperialistic Arabs, which I don’t think would be tolerated by a clear majority of the non-Arab world. Or would it?

I am really afraid of the anti-semetism that is surfacing in the West, not least because of our large, activist Arab populations. They are obsessed with Israel and with Jews which puts our Jewish communities on the defensive and at some risk. They inspire other racists in our communities to join them in their blanket condemnations of Israel. I cannot describe the sheer rage I feel towards these people who I think are a danger to our countries and especially to our Jewish citizens.
