Peters: European haters will throw Muslims out

November 26, 2006 — A RASH of pop prophets tell us that Muslims in Europe are reproducing so fast and European societies are so weak and listless that, before you know it, the continent will become “Eurabia,” with all those topless gals on the Riviera wearing veils.
Well, maybe not.
The notion that continental Europeans, who are world-champion haters, will let the impoverished Muslim immigrants they confine to ghettos take over their societies and extend the caliphate from the Amalfi Coast to Amsterdam has it exactly wrong.
The endangered species isn’t the “peace loving” European lolling in his or her welfare state, but the continent’s Muslims immigrants - and their multi-generation descendents - who were foolish enough to imagine that Europeans would share their toys.
In fact, Muslims are hardly welcome to pick up the trash on Europe’s playgrounds.
Don’t let Europe’s current round of playing pacifist dress-up fool you: This is the continent that perfected genocide and ethnic cleansing, the happy-go-lucky slice of humanity that brought us such recent hits as the Holocaust and Srebrenica.
THE historical patterns are clear: When Europeans feel sufficiently threatened - even when the threat’s concocted nonsense - they don’t just react, they over-react with stunning ferocity. One of their more-humane (and frequently employed) techniques has been ethnic cleansing.
And Europeans won’t even need to re-write “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” with an Islamist theme - real Muslims zealots provide Europe’s bigots with all the propaganda they need. Al Qaeda and its wannabe fans are the worst thing that could have happened to Europe’s Muslims. I think that both Steyn and Peters are partially right and partially wrong. Steyn may use seemingly scary one-off demographic examples, but unlike what he claims, demographic trends actually do not point to a Muslim takeover of Europe. How can this be? Steyn is absolutely correct that Europe has low fertility, but he completely leaves out the fact that most Muslims today also have low fertility, and the Muslims still at high rates are dropping rapidly. Steyn mentions this Palestinian grandmother with 9 children and 40 grandchildren (or whatever the number), but her fertility is actually irrelevant to the future, because her childbirths already occurred in the past. The real number to be concerned about is not her fertility, but the fertility of those grandchildren who are of reproductive age themselves. And on average, they will have not 9 children, but only 1 or 2 children each. This is right in line with European fertility levels, and does not at all lead to the type of demographic takeover that Steyn believes.

At the same time, though, more Muslims are indeed immigrating to Europe, and I don’t think Europeans will do anything much about it until they truly feel threatened. And right now, they don’t feel truly threatened. As much as Muslims have done in Europe, they don’t truly hold any serious power there. Native Europeans still live under their own countries’ laws.
However, if a European nation (or a portion of a nation) is actually taken over by Muslims who force the native Europeans to live under Sharia, then I think the rest of Europe will finally feel threatened, and a good number of Europeans will take action. Under such a scenario, I agree with both Peters and Steyn. As Steyn says, relatively few Euopeans will actually wake up and respond - many will move away and many will accept defeat; perhaps only 10-20% will stay and fight. But like Peters states, the reaction of those 10-20% will be ferocious. And even this portion of Europeans should be plenty enough to defeat the Muslims; these same people conquered far more numerous populations in the past (the colonization of India, Africa, etc.), and the same thing can happen again.
Of course, though, even if the Europeans win, the continent will be weakened greatly. And this could make things ripe for a takeover by an enemy much stronger than Muslims (who are actually very weak militarily: http://thesolidsurfer.typepad.com/the_solid_surfer/2005/12/isaac_asimovs_f_1.html): China. But that’s a whole different issue to discuss.

Dbostan - I agree with you regarding most Europeans. But perhaps 10-20% are still strong, and the number may rise if Islamic terrorism keeps occurring.

As for a few terrorist attacks, they already have happened in Spain and Britain. Spain ran for cover electing a pacifist government committed to appeasing the radical Muslim hordes hoping that they will not again harm Spain or at least put Spain to the bottom of the Muslim radical hit list.
Britain’s 7/7 woke the British up to the dangers within their own Muslim communities where non radical Muslims became radicalized by radical imams that Britain tolerated without censure. Britain however went back to sleep.
The director of MI 5 last week gave a pure truth report that gave the British a very good idea of just how extensive a threat to their welfare, the radical Islamic 5th column in Britain presents. It was enough to at least make the proverbial British stiff upper lip quiver.
One would have thought that with that MI5 report, all the British anger over 7/7 would have been re-awakened, one would have thought that if the British government did not immediately announce changes to their immigration policies, restricting Muslim immigration and facilitating the quick deportation of undesireable Muslims along with tougher treason, sedition and hate laws to prosecute and deport any Muslim who preached hatred of any British citizen or called for Muslims to rise up and harm Britain, that British citizens would have taken to the streets demanding that such strong measures be taken.
There have been many heinous crimes by Muslims in Europe against non Muslims. In the Netherlands, there was the brutal murder of van Gogh, the threats made on Hirsi Ali’s life forcing her to move to America and the death threats made against those reporters and editors associated with the Jylland’s Posten publicatin of the Mohammed cartoons. In France there was the inhumane torture and murder of a Jew last year, Muslim violence on the streets of Paris, and Muslim violent anti-Semitic attacks against European Jews.
Perhaps Jews do not count for much to anger Europeans against their Muslim communities.
Peters’ article predicts at some point Europe will be pushed and it will react against its Muslim citizens with a viciousness as seen from radical Islamists.
What Peters does not do is give even a hint as to what it will take for Europe to erupt with murderous anger against its Muslim communities, which point many thought came and went long ago and will not come again.

If Hitler could succeed in convincing an entire nation to hate loyal, peaceful, and productive Jewish citizens, someone ought to be able to persuade most of Europe to hate violent and disloyal militant “Muslims.” Germany’s Jews were minding their own businss and contributing to German society, but Hitler still convinced Germany to murder six million of them. The militant “Muslims” say openly that they are going to forcibly turn Europe into an Islamic state while claiming the right to rape any woman who does not cover her face, and to kill people like Theo van Gogh and Hirsa Ali. It ought to be very easy to evoke incredible hatred of individuals who say, for example, “Europe you will pay, your 9/11 is on its way.”
Perhaps someone should do a documentary called “The Eternal Jihadist.” As opposed to the garbage the Nazis put into “Der Ewige Jude,” “The Eternal Jihadist” could contain hours of video footage of live beheadings, bombings, the 9/11 attack, and the violent threats from the Islamofascists themselves. This propaganda should be shown as widely as possible until Europeans start to slam doors in the jihadsists’ faces, refuse to rent apartments to them, and do everything possible (without resorting to illegal violence) to drive them out of their countries.
Of course, it must make a clear distinction between Muslims and militant “Muslims.” It was shameful enough, for example, that the U.S. put Japanese-Americans in concentration camps simply for being of Japanese origin, and this must never be repeated against other innocent people simply because of their ethnicity.
Militant “Muslims:” homo sapiens by BIRTH, subhuman by CHOICE.

I suspect that at some point, a shift in attitude will occur among Europeans such that they will elect hard-line anti-Islamic gov’ts, and not care what kind of treatment the Muslims are subject to. The Europeans are not a sweet, good natured people, but rather are amoral and self-interested, and hence quite capable of ruthlessness.

The Islamic extremists may have miscalculated. The more terror attacks (especially home grown) and unrest (France), the more Europeans wake up, the more likely it is that Europeans will start demanding a stop to Muslim immigration. Europeans may also start demanding that their Muslim citizens integrate and adapt and shut up about sharia or leave. If this transpires in Europe, North America wouldn’t be far behind. Gosh, what’s a terrorist to do? (Assuming of course that the terrorists give a damn about European Muslims.)
Well, I can think of lots of other targets, but the point is to get the extremists out of our countries and assimilate the other moderate Muslims.
