Jerusalem - Oct. 10th: MK Benny Elon, Chairman of the National Union Party, will launch a million-dollar advertising campaign to promote “The Israeli Initiative - The Right Road to Peace” on Wednesday, Oct. 10th at 12:00pm at Beit Agron in Jerusalem. A prominent US presidential candidate will endorse the plan, and MK Elon’s vision via exclusive video at the press conference.
A prominent American multi-millionaire has funded the campaign. The campaign will comprise of approximately 400 billboards, an extensive Internet campaign in Hebrew and English, a website in seven languages, and the distribution of a 16-page booklet to key decision-makers in Israel, the US, Europe, South America, Asia and Arab countries.
“The Israeli Initiative” is MK Elon’s proposed solution for solving the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. It is based on three principles; a humanitarian solution, a regional solution and Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.

Perhaps Benny Elon will be the one to inspire Israelis with his new plan.
His plan however has within it a seeming contradiction. As for Gazan Palestinians, he is speaking of Israel annexing Gaza and having Palestinians move out and be accepted as citizens into nations other then Israel with generous compensation to get their lives started anew.
Regarding Judea and Samaria, though speaking of Israeli annexation, he is also speaking of allowing Palestinians to remain in the West Bank under Israeli rule, but as Jordaninan citizens. Jordan in return for this would receive billions in aid and both money and help from Israel.
I would have thought that with all the billions and aid to Jordan to build a much stronger and vibrant nation, it would be the consideration given Jordan for taking in all the Palestinians from the West Bank as citizens as opposed to having them remain in place in the West Bank as Jordanian citizens.

What is important here is the million dollar advertising campaign. Then there is the CUFI campaign and the Land of Israel campaign which I posted on today.

I agree Ted. It would be great if CUFI’s and Land of Israel campaigns also included splash advertising to set the fire in Israelis to demand Olmert change course or get out.

I hope Benny is recovered from his cancer and is now in good health ! That’s it! Benny turned the small secular right wing party of Gandhi’s Moledet party into another inconsequential religious party with 1 nominal secular Israeli Eldad. Eldad has eclipsed Elon in all ways intellectually charisma and ability to hold an audience attention for more than 5 minuits. Bennys’ plan was a non starter a few years ago when he first broached it and not much has changed since. His plan rests on assumptions to which there is no basis to believe either Jordan, Egypt or the palis themselves would agree. Since Olmert, Barak, and even BB are ready to give them almost all their hearts desire with out having to concede anything in return why would they now agree to Elons whimsical fantasies.
If his plan creates a National debate then It can be seen then in a positive light. Thats it though! I can’t see why Jordan would suddenly be open to receiving a few million more Palis. He already has more than he wants already. He knows at first opportunity they will dispense of the hated Bedouin King ( Yea they all Hate the Bedouins).
I can’t forgive Elon for not quitting the Sharon government and hung on till Sharon fired him. Then he squeeled like a stuffed pardon the expression PIG! He as much as anyone assisted Sharon to impliment his Gaza ethnic cleansing by staying on and strengthened Sharon till Sharon turned the tables on him. I can’t forget that he tried to push Eldad out by placing him in a low position on the combined National Union List, even though he Knew that Eldad would attract more votes than Elon. Elon has turned into a little nothing politician whose major aim is to stay in the Knesset preferably without going to the voters first.
