Why is Israel Providing Electricity to Gaza?

by Bill Levinson

We recently read that Israel’s response to ongoing Palestinian rocket attacks has been to interrupt electrical power to Gaza for fifteen minute intervals. It is hard to sympathize with Israel when Israel is itself part of the problem: specifically that it continues to arm and empower terrorists.

Israel should cut off all electrical and other utilities to Gaza. Food should be cut off as well, noting that Hamas seems to have plenty of money with which to buy weapons. This money should be used to buy food instead. When the world bleats about how Israel is “responsible” for the welfare of the Palestinians, it should reply that England did not provide fuel or even food to the Nazis while V2 ballistic missiles were falling on London. If further explanation is needed, Israel should add that England’s reply to the bombings and V2 rockets was the incineration of Dresden and other German cities, again as opposed to the provision of material support to the enemy.
