Foreign Fighters in Iraq Are ‘Allies” of U.S. from Libya and Saudi Arabia

by Jerry Gordon, American Congress for Truth blog, November 22, 2007

Well, the New York Times finally caught up with the rest of us. They had a splash headline in today’s Thanksgiving edition trumpeting that fact that almost 3/5ths or 59% of foreign fighters in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia (41%) and Libya (18%). We posted comments on how the US formally designated Saudi Arabia a ‘valued ally” in the war on terrorism - pure taqiyya in view of 15 of the 19 perpetrators of 9/11 with educated Saudi nationals and that most of the funding for Sunni insurgents in Iraq comes from Saudi and Gulf emirates financiers. The Times was reporting on documents and computers captured by US forces giving profile info on these Jihadis captured at Sinja near the Syrian border with Iraq. This Times article corroborates the more than 50 % of suicide bombers and 55% of detainees in compounds near Baghdad.

So much for Saudi and Libyan cooperation in the war against Jihadis. They are supplying them.

But why would you expect Wahhabis in Saudi Arabia and madman Qadaffi’s Salafi adherents in Libya to cooperate with the US and prevent these foreign Jihadis from entering Iraq? After all, the only reason why Qadaffi turned turtle, so to speak, was because we caught him red handed in getting nuclear technology and materials to build bombs, didn’t we?

As for the Saudis, it’s the oil thing, given the spike in world demand for hydrocarbons and the Saudis being the so-called swing producers in OPEC. With the price of a barrel of oil streaking to $100, this country could face an economic slowdown and possible recession next year, while ‘allies’ Libya and Saudi Arabia and ‘enemies’ Venezuela and Iran scoop up trillions of petro-dollars. There seems to be a a cognitive disconnect between these facts and our bear hug of these Sunni suppliers of terrorists. It makes one question why this country is even inviting them to Annapolis next week to beat up on a real ally of America, Israel

    Shalom Jerry,

Don’t assign that much significance to the barbarians from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia isn’t a Westphalian state but rather a tribe with a flag. The tribe is allied with the US.

I believe Libya was removed from the enemy list because the Us need oil and oilfield contracts. Where is Armand hammer when we need him ?!

The US needs Saudi cooperation. It’s the petrodollar for our ally in Saudi Arabia and the propped up pension funds and artificial employment in the US.

Bush and Co is working on all this. The cut in the USD’s value cuts into producers’ earnings. The Euro is not even a temporary stop-gap measure.

The US dollar is the only hotel in town.

    South ,Jerry , Happy thanksgiving,

Try this on for size: America has a built in bias to where they feel their essential National Interests lay, which is to insure world or enough of the world stability so that they will have a certain supply of essential and necessary energy fossil fuels which in Americas parlance is 3rd world and Arab reactionary desert tribes with National flags. Israel as it is presently constituted is a net liability or at best a pawn in their game of pretending to appease these same owners of those necessary energy fossil fuels. For decades America used the excuse that importing from the Arabs was an economic necessity as it was mostly high grade and at the historic cheap prices it made economic sense as exploration and extracting was much more expensive. So American oil companies have become almost net importers over the years, Why is it that now when the price of a bbl. of oil is hovering around 100$ bbl. that nobody is screaming for our domestic oil companies to start drilling?surely there is a National interest for them to do so! Surely at 100$ bbl. it is economical for them to drill? Why is this not a political campaign issue in either party?

So I asked the Question is world stability really in the American and oil producing countries economic interests? Increased demand from China and India are only part of the reasons for the Jump! On 9/11 the price was about 25$ bbl.n

What seems apparent is that world instability if controlled is preferable to the US, Russians and Oil producers, the Oil companies, the stock markets, financial institutions, Armaments manufacturer’s, and all the smaller sub suppliers and subcontractors to the Big players. Iraq besides their energy wealth is providing a few countries with contracts worth hundreds of billions of $s, with no end in site.

Rather than Israel agreeing to pay with its existence, at worst and hundreds and thousands of dead and wounded by being restrained to finish off her enemies, by declaring a divorce from American protection and patronage, Israel becomes at that point the worlds wild card the unknown X factor . The most dangerous country in the world. Israel then becomes the checkmate to the global ambitions mentioned above. Nobody I believe would want to test the outcome or the potential results of pushing This X factor to a point that would destroy the sources of all the wealth being extracted as per the Israel who willing up till now put its neck on the Americans and worlds Chopping Block. We would force them to change their historic diskette, and look for other reasons and candidates to keep their prices high and profits rolling in.

Israel has become too predictable. Uncertainty in our case can be an essential survival tool. Nobody likes a crazy state but they all fear and thus respect them.

    Shalom Yamit 82,

    Appreciate Thanksgiving wishes.

    …..

You said it all clearer than my many attempts at being a Baruch.

and Baruch wrote down in the scroll
    JEREMIAH 36:6

Yet, re Israel is too predictable, absolutely no way to rectify this by addresing external factors. It is internal to Jews.

Sderot is under siege amd next week, Israel’s “leaders” will arrive in Annapolis along with nations not having diplomatic relations with the Third Temple.

    It is an internal matter.
