Kosher Highlights: Jeb Bush, Adult Stem Cells, And Adam Sandler Bringing Israel To The Big Screen?
Hopefully everyone here enjoyed their holidays this month from Hanukkah, to Christmas to Festivus (for you Seinfeld fans).
Anyways, just in case you were busy opening presents or eating too much food (like turkey, more turkey and some holy cow in the form of ribs) here are some news items you may have missed over the break.
First off our fearless leader Ted has a post about how America could become oil independent thanks to Israeli technology. While this is good news for gas guzzlers, home owners may want to check out Israel’s latest breakthrough in solar power.
Perhaps President Bush will be able to check this out when he visits Israel, although Jeb Bush may beat him there first as he is taking his family for a tour of the holy land.
If anyone reading this is planning on visiting the Jewish state in the near future, you might want to see if you can secure a HolyPass, in order to save a few shekels (or dollars) while touring in Israel.
With the general news items of the day posted, here are some of the other interesting articles broken down by section.
Business & Government
The British Airways is recommending Israel as a destination spot, while Kosher food continues to gain popularity within the United States. Meanwhile Prime Minister Peres was interviewed by WikiNews, as well as met with the VP of Nigeria on his first visit to Israel.
Aliyah & Charity
It looks like 40 Persian Jews decided to exit their Iranian homeland and enter the Holy Land thanks to some generous donors. Speaking of donations, it looks as if Jewish Agency For Israel will receive $15 million annually (for three years) while a few comedians are holding a benefit tour in Israel.
Health & Science
It looks like Israeli scientists have made a break through regarding adult stem cells, while three Israeli scientists are being highlighted by the Scientific American as leading world innovators. (note: thanks Laura for the tip!)
Movies & Art
For those of you who love all things artistic, Ziva has a post about Israeli art coming from the southern region while it looks as if Adam Sandler will be staring in a new humerous movie as a deadly Israeli soldler who decides to venture into hair styling. Heh!

Yes
I like Seinfeld and also another American show based on a TV presenter which beamed on English channels
This dry cell solar systems is really interesting and I am excited by orionsolar.
I have a close friend in Ireland very influential in environment issue and she is also with me on the Jewish issue. I will be passing this along and I guarantee that we will push this material for all it is worth, and making a big issue that this is Israel speaking here, although the name Barry Breen intrigues me, I grew up with Breens in Ireland.
Anyway Jerry did an article on this a year ago, I investigated it, there may be a South African angle to it, and it was based on the glass foundation covered in chemicals idea which is actually touched on above. The last I heard factories were producing the thing ready for early 2008. It was said to be 4 times cheaper, 8 times more powerful, which is a factor of 48
I am a revolutionary socialist. I see the answer being the large scale production of this to transform man“s energy use.
Ask what is objectively necessary. It is not to make a profit but to cover the Sahara with the things, making sure the scorpions can coexist. There is no use for it anyway.
To me it is a major issue. The saving of the planet we live on, and the bonus to answer the lies about Israel. I would aim to do both with this. Tell Barry Breen to count us in for support on this and good luck!
