Convicted Felon Bobby Rush Proposes Sweeping Gun Control

Bobby Rush, a former member of an organization known for killing police officers, doesn’t want honest people to own guns
by Bill Levinson
We have written here frequently about the importance of the Second Amendment in the defense of the United States against militant “Muslims” and other terrorists. Although militant “Muslims” feel free to perpetrate rampant violence and gang rape in Europe, these practices are far less frequent here because of the widespread private ownership of firearms.

Representative Bobby Rush (D-IL), a former Black Panther and a convicted felon whose illegal possession of firearms lost him his own right to own firearms, has proposed a bill to require licensing of all handguns and semiautomatic firearms (H.R. 45). Although he managed to receive an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, his service record includes an incident of Absent Without Leave (AWOL). Bobby Rush is therefore just another common criminal and jailbird who resents the fact that law-abiding people can own the means with which to protect themselves from terroristic violence.

Then again, given Bobby Rush’s own ties with the Black Panthers, perhaps he is sympathetic to terrorists of all stripes, not just militant “Islamic” ones. As Bobby Rush’s former associates said, “The Revolution has co-ome, it’s time to pick up the gu-un. Off the pigs! [Kill the police officers!]” Meanwhile, “From the fall of 1967 through the end of 1969, nine police officers were killed and 56 were wounded in confrontations with the Panthers.” The United States does not need advice from a convicted felon and an associate of cop-killers to tell it how to reduce violent crime.

  1. A good friend of mine likes to recount a story every time this subject comes. Two small towns in Colorado decided to change their gun laws. One town made them stronger and one abolished guns altogether. What happened was a forgone conclusion.

The town with the stronger gun laws had their crime rate go to zero. The other town had their crime rate raised dramatically. All the criminals went to the town with no guns to commit any crime they wanted. The other town was safe because no one wanted to take a chance on getting shot and killed.

After a year, the crime statistics were reviewed and the town without guns revoked the no-gun law. The entire city council was voted out. The mayor only kept his job because he did an about face on the issue.

It is a proven fact that when guns are taken away from its citizens, then only the bad guys have guns. With proper instruction, even kids are safe with and around guns. You never hear of a kid that goes hunting with his father having an accident. It only happens to city kids, where even the parents are poorly trained.

The gun issue had been debated for years and keeps rearing its ugly head. By now, everyone knows the facts. Government should butt out and let the citizens that want to have guns, have them. We can all see in recent history, when an honest citizen having a gun would have saved many lives.

The United States does not need advice from a convicted felon and an associate of cop-killers to tell it how to reduce violent crime.

    Amen to that.

  2. Bill,

Your stereotyping is really running wild. I received a General Discharge under Honorable Conditions, was busted in rank for political activities on base, and was AWOL for a month; yet I am not an advocate of gun control. There is no “cause and effect” between Rush’s activities in the 60s, and his current political positions on ANYTHING! Are you going to go on to say that all Vietnam Vets are crazy because they supported the Army that brought about the My Lai Massacre? When will you give up your propaganda campaign, and start speaking the truth?

  4. Ejecito, I looked up your link. Every other word is “Nazi”, it seems. I can see now, how Godwin’s Law refers to Usenet discussions.

That is because two neo-Nazis replied to the thread that I had posted.

Note how they both referred to Bill as “Levinstein”.
