BBC Sophistry: Palestinian Fact; Israeli Claim

By Andrew L. Jaffee, netwmd.com

It is not news that the BBC is biased in its coverage of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. It is nonetheless instructive to analyze the subtle wording the Beeb uses in its editorializing — in news stories. Today, information about Palestinian casualties as a result of Israeli operations was reported as a self-evident fact, while attacks by Palestinians against Israeli civilians were specifically cited only as a claim made by the Jewish state’s army:

Over the past seven days, more than 20 people have died in Gaza as a result of Israeli military action. In the same period, the Israeli army says that Palestinian militants have fired more than 90 rockets and mortars into Israel.

Fair and balanced?

Nothing new here The BBC reflects the British Position and the British publics; either apathy or consent to their methods and portrayal Of Israel. Ho Hum if there ever were a nation that deserved to be brought so low as to ignore them is painless and even spiritualy refreshesing as the British as a nation and what they think is really of no sifnificance and of no consequence at least for us. Hail Britanica may they all rot somewhere where the odor can’t reach us.

And of course they are referred to as “militants” instead of terrorists.
