Wesley Clark belittles John McCain’s service record: SICKENING

Wesley Clark exploits his fellow Vietnam veteran’s bad combat luck to disparage his service record
Sent to http://securingamerica.com/feedback

Dear General Clark,

I am copying you on this piece, which I am posting to several blogs to which I write, because I don’t need to say behind someone’s back what I won’t say to his face. Furthermore, I added the word “sickening” in the subject line for those blogs. Per “Clark hits McCain’s military credentials” at http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080629/pl_politico/11425, you said

“I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in the armed forces, as a prisoner of war,” he added that these experiences in no way qualify McCain to be president in his view:

“He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee. And he has traveled all over the world. But he hasn’t held executive responsibility. That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded — that wasn’t a wartime squadron,” Clark said.

“I don’t think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president.”

I read that you were wounded in action during the Vietnam War, so you doubtlessly appreciate far better than I how easy it is to get unlucky in combat. You and your fellow veteran both had bad luck in Vietnam, and McCain’s luck happened to be somewhat worse than yours. Suppose the luck had gone a little differently: McCain was shot down and injured but rescued by American forces while the enemy wounded you seriously enough to discharge you from the service as a decorated but disabled junior officer. Instead of being put on career hold while he was tortured by the enemy, John McCain might now be a retired admiral like his father and grandfather while you were a relatively anonymous white collar professional. I am quite frankly uncomfortable in writing a letter of this nature to a genuine hero, but you ought to think about the phrase “There but for the grace of God go I” before you use a fellow veteran’s (and hero’s) bad luck to belittle his service record for pure political gain (whether on your behalf or another’s).

I will conclude by adding that the individual–I won’t call him a man–whom you are promoting was, per his own book “Dreams From My Father,” smoking pot and embracing Black Nationalism at about the same age at which John McCain got into that fighter plane, joined you in putting his life on the line for our country, and got shot down and tortured for his efforts.

(my signature, with my real name and E-mail contact, appears in the letter)

  1. You should read exactly why Wesley Clark was removed from his last command.

Exactly what sort of executive responsibility has this punk from Chicago held? If McCain isn’t qualified to be commander in chief with all of his years worth of experience in the senate and in the military, then what qualifies hussein nobama who never served in the military and only became a senator three years ago? Wesley Clark is a sleezy opportunist looking for a job in a potential hussein administration. No military man or woman worth his or her salt could possibly support hussein nobama over John McCain. But sadly Clark has put his personal ambitions ahead of the good of the country. What a disgrace.

  3. I am outraged at the comments of this person whom I would have respected for his military seervice; however I now have canceled that respect and replaced it with disgust. Is there anything you would not do in order to further your political ambitions? Supporting that pipsqueek, who has never accomplished anything except devisiveness, over over a true hero and patriot, shows just what a an officer who was fired for incompetence would do.

To Obama’s credit, he did disown the comments.

  5. But Obama has communication skills, exactly the type of thing one says at an job interview about a position for which he is totally unqualified. Yes, he’s a “people person”. Sorry, sir there’s no no such thing as a redundancy department at our company. You should try the civil service.

    [...on second thought -- Hmmm.]

  8. Here was what Clark said in 2004

John Kerry has heard the thump of enemy mortars. He’s seen the flash of the tracers. He’s lived the values of service and sacrifice. In the Navy, as a prosecutor, as a senator, he proved his physical courage under fire. And he’s proved his moral courage too.

John Kerry fought a war, and I respect him for that. And he came home to fight a peace. And I respect him for that, too. John Kerry’s combination of physical courage and moral values is my definition of what we need as Americans in our commander in chief.

He left out “committed atrocities and behaved like Genghis Khan,” per Kerry’s own account of his action.

What exactly do you mean by this?

  11. Wesley Clark has the face of that Sesame Street Puppet whose face popped out of the trash can! You know what? I am opposed to the Vietnam war that occured, although I can name a superior Vietnamese crew who can fix cars really well and are better mechanics than a lot of white mechanics who are rooks, crooks, and bafoons! McCain suffered for his country in one of the worst wars in American history. Although my parents were both opposed to the Vietnam war, they respected the soldiers! I also respect every Vietnam veteran who fought for America! One thing you don’t do, whether you serve in the military or not, is treat another soldier with the kind of disrespect that Clark has. MCCain served this country well and has been a trusted Senator for many years. Clark is just jealous because he was a dysfunctional General. Of course Clark got the praise and applause of Democrats and enemy countries, because Clark never served American interests or the interests of the good and decent citizens of America! Clark is a disgrace to the uniform - MCCain is by far the batter soldier and leader! It’s only fitting that a throne dwarf like Obama and Clark would UNITE together against McCain - they are jealous that the good and decent leaders of American interests support McCain, while the trash, filth, and sludge of international conspiracies just LOVE Obama and Clark. Clark has no class. Clark has no honorable record worth mentioning. Clark is just a little jealous school boy who advocates gay rights and men raping little boys and killing fetuses before they are even born - I’m sure he applauded this week’s terrorist who used a bulldozer to murder two innocent civilians and I’m sure he applauded the empty baby stroller next to a fallen bus - MCCain has more class than Clark and I think that Clark should just shut his big fat ugly trash can mouth and go back to the bottom of the barrell where he belongs until Sesame Street needs him to jump out of the trash can to make people laugh again!

  12. Clark also looks like that giant fuzzy monster from Sesame Street.

Colmes on Fox News looks like the puppet from TALES FROM THE CRYPT. Such puppets are funny to look at and laugh. What’s sad is that such lifeless puppets need strings attached to someone else’s hands in order to make a movement worth laughing at.

  13. Oscar the Grouch was the name of the Sesame Street Puppet who popped out of the garbage can.
Clark the Grouch is a foreign government puppet who, like all democrats, likes to pop out of the garbage can and make the Village of the Damned Laugh!
