Gotcha! Finally. Imad Mugniyah, Hizbullah military commander and arch terrorist mastermind, who allegedly planned the Beirut US Embassy Marine Barracks and Buenos Aires Jewish center bombings that killed hundreds, has been assassinated in a Damascus, Syria car bombing according to this YnetNews.com report from Israel. Hizbullah accuses Israel, but Israel issues a ‘no comment’. Most wanted by Israel, the US and EU on their priority terrorist hit list, it could have been any one or all of them. Given Israel’s strike against Syria’s nuclear bomb assembly plant last September, I would speculate that they had the means, intelligence and the motivation to do it. We’ll see what the real facts of this important terrorist hit as they emerge.

Don’t assume that Israel carried out this good deed – though it would be to their credit had they done so. A guy like Mugniyah has lots of enemies and is a tool in the hands of many players. Syria might have killed him in a deal with the US to lessen the consequences of the al-Hariri assassination. Iran might want him dead so that they can take full control over the events/politics in Gaza and the West Bank. Nasralah, the man likely to deliver the eulogy, might have killed him due to the power struggle between the two men. The US wanted him dead for the great number of agents, soldiers and citizens this dirt bag named Mugniyah is responsible for killing.

If it was Massad or any other Israeli promoted assasination, I hope that it doesn’t stop there. Fear itself will slow down Hizbollah’s apparatus.

I’m quite sure hezbollah leaders are panicking, running scared knowing that Israel or possibly the US, can get to them anywhere they hide. Hopefully nassrallah’s day will come soon.
