Is Israel building in east Jerusalem or not?
My letter to all Knesset Members
Now that VP Biden has come and gone, the issue of construction in the eastern part of Jerusalem remains cloudy. Why did Netanyahu apologize for the 1600 units by saying they won’t be built for a few years.
Why were Israeli officials so quick to assure Israelis
Also Thursday, Israeli officials stressed that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had no intention of rolling back the Ramat Shlomo plans, or pledging no new construction in east Jerusalem.
“Our policy regarding Jerusalem is unchanged,” one senior Israeli diplomatic official said, adding that it was fully clear to the US that Israel has not altered its policy about building in east Jerusalem, which it does not consider a settlement.
If we were only doing what we said we were going to do, why was this an issue?
PM Netanyahu fought hard to keep Jerusalem free of the freeze.
Was this just for show? Is Israel, or is she not, building in the eastern part of Jerusalem?
I am not talking about some units here and there. I am talking about massive construction to make up for the fact that construction is frozen in Judea and Samaria. Furthermore, massive construction is needed to lower prices and stop the exodus of Jews from Jerusalem.
PM Netanyahu has promised over and over again that Jerusalem will remain the undivided capital of Israel.. How can we believe him if his words are not accompanied with massive construction.
Actions not words are required before Israelis or anyone else will believe he means it.
