Attention JewsVote.org: Obama’s Church Challenged Israel’s Right to Exist
Also published a blood libel of Israel plus a letter from a Hamas terrorist
by Bill Levinson
The following information was sent to Jewsvote.org to place it on record that Jewsvote.org, whose stated mission is to tell the truth about Barack Obama, is aware of these facts. Our own stated position on urban legends and smears is, “Unless you can show us proof, or a reference similar to the kind one would cite in a trade journal or research paper, don’t show us the material in the first place.” Honesty and fairness demands that we join Jewsvote.org in dispelling rumors and urban legends no matter what we think of Obama, and we hope Jewsvote.org will similarly provide its readers with the truth, whether pleasant or unpleasant, about him.
It is a matter of record that the church to which Barack and Michelle Obama belonged for 20 years questioned Israel’s legitimacy as a state, blood libeled Israel by publishing accusations of genocide and development of instruments of genocide, published a guest opinion piece from a Hamas terrorist, and advocated divestment from Israel. The references are directly from the Trinity United Church of Christ’s own Web site (or that of the Trumpet Magazine) and therefore cannot possibly be fabrications, smears, or urban legends. We hope Jewsvote.org will review this material and verify its accuracy, and reconsider its advocacy of Obama’s candidacy.
Jeremiah Wright’s “Look Again,” which is still online as of August 28 2008, questions Israel’s legitimacy by calling it in effect the “so-called state of Israel” (see page 9 of the .pdf file that is hosted at tucc.org, which belongs to the Trinity United Church of Christ.
Most of our members do not know that my Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago’s Divinity School was in the area of Islam in West Africa during the 19th Century when the trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was at its zenith. Islam has as many manifestations as Christianity and Judaism, but most Americans are only fed a media diet on Islam as it relates to the “war on terror” and the Palestinian muslim problem in the “state” of Israel.
Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A Wright, Jr, Senior Pastor
The Trinity United Church of Christ also published the following blood libel of Israel. The newsletter was online at tucc.org as of August 14 2008.
Open Letter to Oprah from Ali Baghdadi on Her Visit to Palestine
Dear Oprah,
I am so glad that you will be visiting my country, Palestine. I wish I could be there to greet you. Certainly, despite the genocide and ethnic cleansing they face every hour of the day, my people will be there. They will be happy to see you and will receive you with open arms.
You must know that Zionist Jews from all over the world, particularly Europe, came to my Palestine, not as guests, but as settlers and occupiers in the early part of the 20th century. The natives were referred to as snakes from which the land must be cleansed. In 1948 they occupied 72% of my land and emptied out over 500 Arab (Christian and Muslim) towns and villages. In 1967 they occupied the remaining 28%.
…if you look down across the valley you can see the site of the massacre of the village of Deir Yassin. Hundreds of armless [presumably "unarmed"] and helpless Arab men, women, and children were shot to death, by the Irgun, Wiesel’s associates and friends, in April 1948. The remaining women survivals were paraded in trucks through the streets of Jerusalem. I can never forget this scene, just can’t. My family, among the thousands of Palestinians, had to flee. NEVER AGAIN are two hollow words. They don’t apply to non-Jews.
I must tell you that Israel was the closest ally to the White Supremacists of South Africa. In fact, South Africa allowed Israel to test its nuclear weapons in the ocean off South Africa. The Israelis were given a blank check: they could test whenever they desired and did not even have to ask permission. Both worked on an ethnic bomb that kills Blacks and Arabs.
The Trinity United Church of Christ’s official bulletin also hosted a guest opinion piece from a Hamas terrorist named Marzook. “A Fresh View of the Palestinian Struggle” by Hamas terrorist Mousa Abu Marzook was still online at tucc.org as of August 14 2008.
Trumpet Magazine (official publication of Obama’s church) urged divestment from Israel, as shown by the following screenshots from the July 2005 edition.

In summary, we are confident that, after Jewsvote.org reviews this information, it will reconsider its support of an individual who belonged to a church that challenged Israel’s legitimacy, published a blood libel of Israel and “Zionist Jews,” published material from an actual Hamas terrorist, and urged divestment from Israel.
Not shocking, as I have stated in previous posts, Jeremiah Wright is a massive anti-Semite, which explains why he said Jesus was black when it is obvious that he was Jewish and born in Israel (The Ethopian Jews were all in Ethopia at the time).

However it is true that Israel worked on the atomic project with South Africa and Taiwan. At the time is made sense since all three nations were international pariahs, that does not mean that Israel liked what the Afrikaaner government of South Africa, they were just willing to work with whomever would support them, since beggars can not be choosers, plus American pressure stopped Israeli support anyways.

No one knows for a fact whether the ancestor’s of today’s Ethiopian Jews were Jewish or Jewish oriented at that time some 2000 years ago.

That was not the point of my comment Shy Guy, it was the fact that there were no black Jews in Israel when Jesus lives, read the entire post.

Hitler’s propoganda sent to Palestine continued after World War II and doesn’t quit. So sad that all the world needed to do was LOVE Israel, respect her borders, and transfer Palestine somewhere else. But the HATE of the United Nations united against Israel only proves why the world needs to be destroyed and revised by Earth’s owner and creator. The failed policies of Satan and his advocates just didn’t rise to the occasion that there was a better way than God’s Way, God’s Truth, and God’s Life. All that the God of Israel ever wanted the world to do was get rid of gods that don’t exist to respect Him and appreciate Him. But the nations hated God first, Israel second, and Christians third – and they won’t quit until we’re all dead. Sometimes I come to the Lord with the faith of a child and pray to God, “Lord, I just want to come home to you!” But not without your Virgin Daughter Israel! If only more men were passionate about Israel like I am! No terrorists would be left in the world to terrorize anyone ever again.
Comment by Michael Sunstar — August 30, 2008 @ 1:33 am
You got the order wrong Michael, the new tactic is to destroy Christianity, then go after the Jews. Without Christianity actins as a shield, no one else on Earth will defend Israel.

Shit I thought you said NoName you were a believing Jew?
Psalm 121
A Song of Ascents. {N}
I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come?
2 My help cometh from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, He that keepeth Israel doth neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper; the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall keep thee from all evil; He shall keep thy soul.
8 The LORD shall guard thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth and for ever. {P}

I am a believing Jew yamit, I do not need you acting superior to me because I happen to like Christians unlike your Jewish Supremacist views, I like and respect other religions and cultures, unlike you yamit, because you are a bigot. Guess you forgot that the Righteous of all nations shall get a portion of the world to come.

I understood Yamit’s point. Read what he highlighted in bold from your post, NoName, and then follow what King David said, which does not exclude liking and respecting people of other cultures.
Comment by Shy Guy — August 30, 2008 @ 11:02 pm
Shy guy I do not trust what you say because you were dumb enough to not understand my post about Ethopian Jews. Plus agreeing with Yamit makes you a bigot against non-Jews as well, thanks for announcing that.

I did read your entire post. All I did was point out that there is no historical verification that Ethiopian Jews existed at the time. Is it that time of the month again, NoName?

Since you worry so much for your beloved Christians consider this, that since Christianity is a false belief in pagan Gods maybe the Targeting of Christendom is what Hakadosh Brauch Hu wants to happen.

The Zohar: Before Redemption -
Moslems will fight against Christians
The holy Zohar (written some 2000 years ago by rabbi Shim’on Bar-Yoahi ZYA”A), prophesied the next passage (brought in the commentary on Exodus, VaEra parasha, page 32):
And the Ishmaelites shall rule the holy land, at the time when it is empty, for a long time, as their circumcision is empty, and not whole (Moslems only remove the prepuce (ORLA). Jews have another stage for the Brith called PRIAA), and they shall prevent the Israelites from returning to their homeland (Since the beginning of Jewish immigration to Israel, Arabs used violence against the Jews, wars and terror attacks. This still prevents the majority of Jews which is in the Diaspora to make Aliyah to Israel) until that privilege of the Ishmaelites will expire.
And the Ishamelites shall ignite big wars in the world, until they will make the Edomites (which are Christians by Jewish tradition) gather to a war against them.
And shall make wars: one on the sea, one in land and (one) near Jerusalem. And those shall rule over those. And the holy land will not be handed over to the Edomites (Christians).
At that time, one people will be awaken from the end of the world to the big sinful city, and there he will ignite a war that will last three months. And peoples will gather there, and will fall in his hands.
Until all the Edomites (Christians) will gather on him (from all the ends of the world). Then HaShem (G-d) will be awakened on them.
This is the meaning of the writing (Isiah 34,6): “For HaShem has a sacrifice in Bossrah” etc. and at the end of it, it says (Job 38,13): “to take hold of the ends of the earth”
And shall destroy the Ishamelites from us, and will break all the armies of Above, and there shall not remain any army Above for a people of the world, except for the army of Israel exclusively.
This is the meaning of the writing (Psalms 121,5): “HaShem (G-d) is your shadow on your right hand”, because the holy name is in the (spiritual) right side, and the Torah is also in the (spiritual) right side. Therefore all depends on the right side.
And we have learnt orally: He who come to pray, will put his right hand over his left hand, as it was established in Jewish Halacha.
At the Latter Days (Psalms 60): “Deliver your right and answer me”, and at that time it is written (Zefaniah 3): “For then I shall turn to peoples in a clear language, all to call the name of HaShem (G-d), to worship him together”. And it is written (Zechariah 14): “And HaShem (G-d) shall be the King of all the land, on that day HaShem (G-d) will be one, and his name will be one”.
HaShem shall be blessed for ever, Amen and Amen.
We definitely see here an amazing prophecy of Moslems “making troubles” to Jews in the Land of Israel, but - more important - that the Moslems will ignite a war which will bring most of the Christian nations to fight them, as we see the beginning of the process right before our eyes with the Sep. 11 attack and the war in Afghanistan. We know as a fact that bin Laden wanted to start a war with Christianity, because Islam believes that the last war will be made between “believers” (in Islam) and “Romans” (Christians).
The outstanding thing is, that the Zohar was written about 2000 years ago, when Christianity was only in the beginning and Mohammed wasn’t even born yet…

Yamit, your dumber then a sack of coal and Shy guy, thanks for proving you still do not understand the point of my post. Yamit, you know nothing about Christianity, I can see that much from your post, I may be an Orthodox Jew, but since I believe in Torah umadda I studied Christianity and understand they worship they same G-d as the Jews, they just have a different way to understand Him and how to reach Him, but thanks for making the rest of us Jews look bad with your bigotry.

Now NoName; Having studied Christianity you must know how can any Jew trust any believing Christian, when the foundation of that faith is based on:
* Corinthians 9:20-22: To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews; to those under the law I became as one under the law — though not being myself under the law — that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law — not being without law toward God but under the law of Christ — that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak.
* Romans 3:7: If through my lies God’s truth abounds to His glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner?
* Philippians 1:18: In every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Jesus is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.

Here is where you are wrong. Christians violate the First Noahide Law, there fore cannot be considered righteous.
The Seven Noahide Laws
Part 1
The following are the seven commandments, comprising six negative precepts and one positive. There is much more that remains as explanation and commentary, but this article will limit itself to a few insights after presenting the list itself.
1. Idolatry is forbidden. Man is commanded to believe in the One G-d alone and worship only Him.
2. Incestuous and adulterous relations are forbidden. Human beings are not sexual objects, nor is pleasure the ultimate goal of life.
3. Murder is forbidden. The life of a human being, formed in G-d’s image, is sacred.
4. Cursing the name of G-d is forbidden. Besides honoring and respecting G-d, we learn from this precept that our speech must be sanctified, as that is the distinctive sign which separated man from the animals.
5. Theft is forbidden. The world is not ours to do with as we please.
6. Eating the flesh of a living animal is forbidden. This teaches us to be sensitive to cruelty to animals. (This was commanded to Noah for the first time along with the permission of eating meat. The rest were already given to Adam in the Garden of Eden.)
7. Mankind is commanded to establish courts of justice and a just social order to enforce the first six laws and enact any other useful laws or customs.
“These seven laws are implicit in God’s commandment to Adam and Eve in Gen. 2:16-17, “And the Lord God commanded the man saying ‘From all the trees of the garden you may freely eat’.”
In the Talmud, Rabbi Yochanan explains:
1. The word “commanded” (VaYetzav) is a reference to laws of justice for it says in Gen. 18:19, “For I have known him so he will COMMAND (Yitzaveh) his children after him to keep the way of the Lord and righteousness and justice.”
2. “And the Lord” (HaShem) implies the prohibition of blasphemy. As it says in Lev. 24:16, “He who blasphemes the name of THE LORD (Hashem) shall die.”
3. “God” (Elokim) is a reference to idolatry for it says in Ex. 20:3 “You shall have no other Elokim before me”.
4. “The Man” (Ha Adam) is the prohibition of murder. God explicitly commands Noah (Gen. 9:6), “If one sheds the blood of THE MAN (Ha Adam), by man shall his own blood be shed.”
5. “Saying” (Laymor) refers to sexual misconduct or adultery, as the prophet Jeremiah (3:1) says, “Saying (laymor), if a man divorces his wife…”
6. “From all the trees of the Garden” is an implicit prohibition of theft. It shows that permission is needed to take something that is not explicitly yours.
7. Likewise, “you may eat” implies that there are things which may not be eaten (the limbs of a live animal).
THE SEVEN LAWS OF NOAH
Part 2
1. THEFT
1. against stealing

11. against a laborer taking of such fruit home
12. against kidnapping
13. against the use of false weights and measures
14. against the possession of false weights and measures
15. that one shall be exact in the use of weights and measures
16. that the robber shall return (or pay for) the stolen object
2. JUSTICE
1. to appoint judges and officers in each and every community
2. to treat the litigants equally before the law
3. to inquire diligently into the testimony of a witness
4. against the wanton miscarriage of justice by the court
5. against the judge accepting a bribe or gift from a litigant
6. against the judge showing marks of honor to but one litigant
7. against the judge acting in fear of a litigant’s threats
8. against the judge, out of compassion, favoring a poor litigant
9. against the judge discriminating against the litigant because he is a sinner
10. against the judge, out of softness, putting aside the penalty of a mauler or killer
11. against the judge discriminating against a stranger or an orphan
12. against the judge hearing one litigant in the absence of the other
13. against appointing a judge who lacks knowledge of the Law
14. against the court killing an innocent man
15. against incrimination by circumstantial evidence
16. against punishing for a crime committed under duress
17. that the court is to administer the death penalty by the sword
18. against anyone taking the law into his own hands to kill the perpetrator of a capital crime
19. to testify in court
20. against testifying falsely
* This point is disagreed upon by different writers: “The Noahites are not restricted in this way but may judge singly and at once.”
3. HOMICIDE
1. against anyone murdering anyone
4. ILLICIT INTERCOURSE
1. against (a man) having union with his mother

9. against (a man) lying carnally with his father’s brother
10. against engaging in erotic conduct that may lead to a prohibited union
5. LIMB OF A LIVING CREATURE
1. against eating a limb severed from a living animal, beast, or fowl
2. against eating the flesh of any animal which was torn by a wild beast … which, in part, prohibits the eating of such flesh as was torn off an animal while it was still alive
7. BLASPHEMY
1. to acknowledge the presence of God
2. to fear God
3. to pray to Him
4. to sanctify God’s name (in face of death, where appropriate)
5. against desecrating God’s name (even in face of death, when appropriate)
6. to study the Torah
7. to honor the scholars, and to revere one’s teacher
8. against blaspheming

Lastly Christianity seems to have been based on a Mix of fertility religions of the ME at that time ; notice all the similarities: They were all pagan No Name and as far as I can see so is your Christianity… I do prefer atheists, at least they are honest, and not necessarily Pagan.
Origins of the Jesus Mythos
Christianity is based on the unique belief that Jesus was God’s Son, born of a virgin, sacrificed for the Salvation of man. In reality, as sacrificed virgin-born Savior Son of God, Jesus was not unique. Not even close. The Jesus mythos simply followed the traditional model of the ancient pagan savior-gods.
At the time of Jesus of Nazareth, as for centuries before, the Mediterranean world roiled with a happy diversity of creeds and rituals. Details varied according to location and culture, but the general outlines of these faiths were astonishingly similar. Roughly speaking the ancients’ gods:
* Were born on or very near our Christmas Day
* Were born of a Virgin-Mother
* Were born in a Cave or Underground Chamber
* Led a life of toil for Mankind
* Were called by the names of Light-bringer, Healer, Mediator, Savior, Deliverer
* Were however vanquished by the Powers of Darkness
* And descended into Hell or the Underworld
* Rose again from the dead, and became the pioneers of mankind to the Heavenly world
* Founded Communions of Saints, and Churches into which disciples were received by Baptism
* Were commemorated by Eucharistic meals
Krishna was born of the virgin Devaki; the Savior Dionysus was born of the virgin Semele. Buddha too was born of a virgin, as were the Egyptian Horus and Osiris. The old Teutonic goddess Hertha was a virgin impregnated by the heavenly Spirit and bore a son. Scandinavian Frigga was impregnated by the All-Father Odin and bore Balder, the healer and savior of mankind.
Mithras was born in a cave, on December 25th, of a virgin mother. He came from heaven to be born as a man, to redeem men from their sin. He was know as “Savior,” “Son of God,” “Redeemer,” and “Lamb of God.” With twelve disciples he traveled far and wide as a teacher and illuminator of men. He was buried in a tomb from which he rose again from the dead — an event celebrated yearly with much rejoicing. His followers kept the Sabbath holy, holding sacramental feasts in remembrance of Him. The sacred meal of bread and water, or bread and wine, was symbolic of the body and blood of the sacred bull.
The celebration of Christmas on December 25 was originally the pagan birthday of Mithras, the sun god, whose day of the week is still known as “Sunday.” The halo of light which is usually shown surrounding the face of Jesus and Christian saints, is another concept taken from the sun god. The theme of temptation by a devil-like creature was also found in pagan mythology. In particular, the story of Jesus’s temptation by Satan resembles the temptation of Osiris by the devil-god Set in Egyptian mythology.ag

Re: #19
This may have indeed played a role in the foundation of Christianity, which is a good reason for not believing that Jesus is the only way to salvation as the missionaries would have us believe.
On the other hand, modern Christianity teaches the same values and beliefs (Natural Law) that Judaism does with regard to how people should treat one another. (So does Hinduism, for that matter.) We should therefore leave Christian-bashing to the likes of the National “Jewish” Democratic Council, which also whitewashes anti-Semitic hate speech and publishes some on its own.

It is wrong to attack the beliefs of another religion. I do not agree with Christianity, Mormonism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. But I would never, ever attack their beliefs, they are entitled to believe as they see fit.

Bill I never bash Christians unless bashed by them first. That includes any post here that uses or pushes Christian belief, as part of their comments. That said I like most Christians and must admit that while growing up in America most of my closet friends especially the female variety were my best friends. Having played varsity football in High school and goin to college on a football scholarship I can tell you I didn’t hang with many Jews.
Shy guy is correct in that I was not out to bash or denigrate Christians, but to try to show where NoName who claims to be Jewish and Orthodox of all things is advocating on a public forum non Jewish and certainly non Orthodox Jewish precepts. If you want to debate me debate but name calling and unsupported Character assassinations do those who do it no honor or respect, especially from me.
Vince you know that is not so. You guys do a good job of that yourselves, I just show you where and how. Lol
I don’t agree with Democrats and liberals either , does that mean I should refrain from criticizing? Liberalism is as much a religious article of faith and belief as any formal religion.
Just bringing the good news! How do you like it when the shoe is on the other foot? (just kidding kinda.)
Why don’t you just argue your position and stop with the name calling. If you disagree state where and why you disagree.

The Jews were commanded to exterminate the Amalekites whose ancestors attacked the Jews many generations ago. Modern rabbis and the Diaspora establishment are all to eager to forget the rule: there is no statute of limitations for genocide. Children of other nations do bear the guilt of their parents. Jewish attempts to ingratiate themselves with Arabs or Ukrainians amount to a betrayal of their butchered kin. Khmelnitsky and other butchers cannot be absolved of their crimes. Even if legal codes don’t recognize that, Jews do. The passage of time didn’t prevent the Ukrainians from honoring Khmelnitsky and shouldn’t prevent us from judging him. Otherwise, in another 100 years Germans could praise Hitler as a great statesman, and the Jews would again shrink from confronting the evil of their allies. Historians, involved with the characters they study, tend to paint rosy pictures, and something good can be found about any mass murderer of Jews.
You can say and believe anything you want NoName, that was never an issue between us or at least not for me. When you write and post a concept and say it is Jewish , you had better here be able to back it up with Jewish sources and authority, otherwise there are a few of us who can to call you on that. I do not accept an ans. of My rabbi said so. Maybe it is good enough for you but not me unless I know the rabbi and have heard him say so and give his authority. That’s how it works with Jews. Rabbis even Gadolim have differences of opinion but can always justify their opinions on other Gadolim and primary sources. You are too defensive. Nobody was attacking you just some of your ideas and concepts that you claimed to be Jewish and that is what I initially challenged you on. From your coments I doubt that you read much if any of what I post to you as your replies do not reflect that you have read any of it except maybe the first sentence.

There is a difference between hunting down and killing or executing Nazi war criminals who actually perpetrated the Holocaust, which is something with which I agree, and killing people whose distant ancestors did something wrong. If everybody did the latter, the whole world would be at war. Would you want Native Americans to act on this principle, and for Caucasians to act on some of the things Native Americans did (e.g. the Wyoming PA massacre of the War of Independence)? Of course, everyone in Europe would be killing everybody else–even the Dutch and Belgians would be going at it. The Mexicans, many of whom are of mixed Spanish and Aztec ancestry, would have to kill themselves, as would most biracial Americans. (Obama being an exception, since his Black ancestors were never enslaved.) The problem with Europe, in fact, is that the people DO act on things that happened hundreds of years ago. That is why everyone in the Balkans wants to kill everybody else in the Balkans.
Israel would do better to kill people who are actually guilty of terroristic violence, like the terrorist they released in exchange for dead Jews. My position would be “dead terrorists for dead Israelis.” They should have hanged the terrorist and offered his body for the dead Israelis.
Bogdan Chmielnicki (portrayed as a rather genial Cossack in the motion picture version of With Fire and Sword) was not only an anti-Semitic but also an anti-Catholic butcher who slaughtered Jews, Catholic priests and nuns, and hundreds of thousands of other innocent people. The Ukranians probably like him because they regarded him as a fighter against perceived injustices from the Poles.
Many Russians praise Stalin, who murdered more people than Hitler, as a great statesman because Russia was on the winning side. They forget that Stalin’s purges of his best generals almost cost the war, and probably cost millions of Russian lives.

I don’t think there’s been a single verifiable case of an Amalekite for 1500-2000 years now.
If I understand Yamit correctly, his key phrase is “Jewish attempts to ingratiate themselves with Arabs or Ukrainians”. Not killing them but rather not forgiving nor forgetting at this time in history.

Why is it that in most cases Shy Guy understands the meaning and nuance of what I post and all the Liberal atheist Jews don’t.
No Bill I am not advocating exterminating anyone in our past or present although if I could I might consider it. Jews and especially Israel should guide its foreign policy to reflect our historical enemies crimes. If we close our eyes and noses why should anyone do less? Take the Ukraine for example: Predicting pogroms in the Ukraine is a safe way to get a prophet’s reputation. No other nation has exterminated so many Jews.
Slavs destroyed the Khazar Kingdom though assimilated much of its culture; the Russian language is heavily rooted in Hebrew.
In the 17th century, Bogdan Khmelnitsky’s hordes massacred between 100,000 and 250,000 Jews with a brutality unknown even at the time. Ukrainian historians claim his massacres were somehow related to alleged abuses of Jewish tax administrators and liquor sellers. Wow! As if most of them were Jewish, as if there were more than a few hundred Jews doing those jobs, as if the drunkard population resented tavern keepers. Jews were not tax farmers in scores of European countries, yet Christians killed them. Khmelnitsky is a hero of modern Ukraine, a country showered by US attention, welcomed by Israel, and aspiring to EU membership. Thousands of Ukrainians have received the government’s Bogdan Khmelnitsky medal. Schoolchildren learn from approving teachers of his struggle against the Jews who oppressed poor Ukrainian masses. In the 18th century, Pylyp Orlyk, Ukrainian warlord and a later convert to Islam, wrote a constitution. Ukrainian students now learn it as an early example of democratic liberalism. Indeed. I won’t repeat what the constitution says about the Jews.
Pogroms continued frequently, but tremendously increased in number and scope since the late 19th century. Liberation movement provoked politically motivated pogroms from 1905. Jews, who were banned from agriculture and did not join proletariat, became class enemies of Ukrainians - another good reason to kill us.
Socialist Revolution of 1917 pulled down even the nominal legislative safeguards against murder of Jews. Ukrainian warlords fought each other, but agreed on one point - kill the Jews. Meet Simon Petlyura, another hero of modern Ukraine. The U.S.-supported Ukrainian president passed executive order that requires regional authorities to build monuments to Petlyura and name streets after him. Curiously, Ukraine signed the European Convention on the International Validity ofCriminal Judgments. In 1926, French court acquitted a Jew who killed Petlyura on the grounds unprecedented in modern justice - the Jew, the court decided, justly avenged his family murdered by Petlyura’s troops. Thus, the Ukrainian hero turns out a convicted mass murderer. Another 250 thousand Jews killed in the extermination campaign larger than any that took place before.
Then came the Nazis. Independent Ukraine took compensation from Germany for the murdered Jews. Germans, sure, organized the extermination, but Ukrainians have carried it out. Queasily hypocritical Ukrainian government holds annual memorial parties at Babyi Yar, a notorious site of mass murder. No one admits that the executioners were Ukrainians, or that the Ukrainians reported Jews to the Nazis and cheered when Jews were marched to death.
the government always sanctioned and often encouraged Ukrainian pogroms. In 1905, police disarmed Jewish self-defense units to clear the path for Ukrainian murderers into Jewish quarters. Current president and major leaders keep close friendship with virulently anti-Semitic Ukrainian nationalists. Jewish barons add to the popular hatred. Ukraine is a poor country, but they steal, cheat on taxes, privatize state assets for pennies, and push their way into parliament. Jewish mayors came to power in rigged elections, and extort enormous bribes from local entrepreneurs, embezzle, and oppress the people. Gentile officials do likewise, but Jews are more visible.
Our relations with countries like Ukraine should be predicated on their recognition of their part in the holocaust and before. and the teaching of their part in it. They should return Jewish communal and individual property to the rightful owners or pay Just compensation at a minimum.

Why Jews Should Applaud Christian Passover Seders
By Rabbi Daniel Lapin
Their criticism springs from three mistakes. First, they argue that Christians have no connection to the Passover Seder and that “The Last Supper” could not have been a Seder because the Seder observance didn’t begin until about the year 70AD.
This astounding whopper betrays breathtaking Torah ignorance. The Seder observance began with the night that the Israelites left Egypt 3320 years ago. The book of Exodus clearly describes the Jews celebrating the first Seder night ever. Even Cecil B. DeMille, himself the child of a Jewish mother and a Christian father knew this. In his The Ten Commandments, he clearly depicted that first Seder night in Egypt. This tradition was well known because even Leonardo de Vinci’s “Last Supper” clearly portrays a Seder observance. The Seder predates Christianity by eons.
The second mistake made by Jews who feel offended by Christians celebrating their own Seders is that they resuscitate one of the greatest lies in the entire lamentable catalog of anti-Semitic crime, one responsible for the deaths of countless Jews—the blood libel. Second only to the infamous forgery, “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” the blood libel claimed that Jews chose Passover to express their deep-seated anti-Christianism. Horrifying pogroms would follow as murderous mobs became convinced that the Passover ritual was so anti-Christian that it required the blood of a Christian child.
With disturbing indifference to currently improving Jewish-Christian relationships, a Reform rabbi recently alleged in a Seattle Times column: “…the Seder developed in part as an anti-Christian polemic….the anti-Christian roots of the event are unmistakable.” Were it not so irresponsible, the rabbi’s assertion would be laughable.
WELL MR. RABBI LAPIN, IN ALL TRADITIONAL PASSOVER HAGGADA’S WE READ;
“Pour forth Your wrath upon the nations that do not recognize You and upon the kingdoms that do not invoke Your name. For they have devoured Jacob and destroyed his habitation. Pour forth Your fury upon them and let Your burning wrath overtake them. Pursue them with anger and destroy them from beneath the heavens of the L-rd.”
The final mistake made by Jews resentful about church Seders, is to view Christians as somehow stealing, or to use one rabbi’s term “co-opting” Judaism for their own purposes. This is almost as if they would insist that only Jews may benefit from Jonas Salk’s polio vaccine because it was a Jew who brought it into existence.
The Seder celebrates the Exodus as the blueprint of all redemption. Even the ultimate Messianic redemption, for which Jews wait faithfully, will be modeled upon the redemption of the Israelites from Egypt. To paraphrase ancient Jewish wisdom: there are many Egypts, and in every generation many people are enslaved to all those Egypts. Though it is fundamentally Jewish, the redemption blueprint of the Seder can bring hope to everyone regardless of background.
Christians experiencing their own Seder-based celebrations are not stealing or co-opting anything. They are renewing their own faith by exploring its Jewish roots. In what possible way does this harm Jews? On the contrary, the happy development of ever more churches holding Seders can only help dissolve distrust and foster friendship between the faiths.
I invite my fellow Jews to be more concerned by Jews who aren’t celebrating the Seder this year than by Christians who are.
Compare this R. Lapins [take] on Passover with another rabbi’s [take] and then judge for yourselves:
Passover: Holiday Of Vengeance Rav Meir Kahane Z”l
It is the night of the Seder, the eve of Passover. The Jewish family having been told by the child who attends the temple “religious school” that Jews celebrate the Passover with a festive meal, or perhaps having heard the temple rabbi or the local American Jewish committee ignoramus declaim the theme of Passover as being the national liberation struggle of all people and the brotherhood of Man (the love of the Gentiles and Jews), is gathered about the table. The room is filled with people, including gentile guests gushing over the fascinating Jewish holiday. The family has equipped itself with
hagadas so as to do the ‘thing’ properly. They have finished the meal and now the excited youngster (Scott, Brian, Kevin or some such Jewish name) excitedly says “It’s time to open the door to Elijah. He comes to every Jewish house.” The parents smile; the gentiles smile - how similar to Santa Claus. And, of course, they all rise as the child rushes to open the door. Jew and gentile alike, chant the words prescribed by the hagada, the Biblical words of the Psalms, that proclaim:
“Pour forth Your wrath upon the nations that do not recognize You and upon the kingdoms that do not invoke Your name. For they have devoured Jacob and destroyed his habitation. Pour forth Your fury upon them and let Your burning wrath overtake them. Pursue them with anger and destroy them from beneath the heavens of the L-rd.”
My G-d! What to think! What do the gentiles in the room think?! What a litany of anger and, above all, vengeance! An open prayer and call for the Almighty to avenge Himself upon the nations, to destroy them for what they did to Israel! Is this Judaism? And did not the “rabbi”, the temple paragon of Jewish wisdom, the fount of Jewish knowledge, admonish us that Jews oppose vengeance, that is not a “Jewish” concept? And that is why we are supposed to feel ashamed some times at the conduct of the Israeli army? And, above all, what will John and Kathy, the gentile neighbors think about the Jews? About us?
Ah, poor Jews; sad little Jews. Conceived in ignorance and born in Jewish know-nothingness. Raised in Jeffersonian and Kennedyian and Jacksonian (Jesse?) Democracy and all the westernized, gentilized culture that is America, and lied to and deceived, and defrauded by secular Jewish ignoramuses - leaders, and Reform-Conservative-Reconstructionist ones; people whose ignorance is so awesome that only their fraud surpasses it. The fraud that was created by the counterfeiters of Judaism is astonishingly awesome. They lied to the Jew because they could not bare to tell the truth to themselves.
Vengeance, un-Jewish? If so, let us cast out the Bible and Talmud as “un-Jewish”. “The L-rd is a G-d of vengeance; O G-d of vengeance, arise!” (Psalms 94). And the rabbis say: “Yes, when vengeance is needed, it is a great thing” (Brachot, 3a). Or “let the high praises of G-d be in their throat and a two edged sword in their hand - to execute vengeance upon the nations…” (Psalms 58). Passover. A holiday that was created to commemorate the sanctity of vengeance; the punishment and the destruction of Pharaoh and Egypt that mocked and humiliated G-d by crying: “Who is the L-rd? I know not the L-rd…” Vengeance so that the world shall know the L-rd and cry, “Verily, there is a G-d that judgeth in the earth…” and: “The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth vengeance, he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked” (Psalms 58). And why? For it is only vengeance that proves that there is indeed a G-d in the world, that there is good and evil and punishment for that evil. When the wicked kill and injustice reigns, surely the wicked cry out: “There is no G-d, for if their was He would punish me.” And the victim in his agony, agrees. When there is no vengeance and punishment and the wicked reign, G-d is pushed from his throne; it is the greatest Hillul Hashem - desecration to G-d’s Name, it is “proof” that there is no G-d.
And again, “The L-rd hath made Himself known through the judgment He executes” (Psalms 9). And, of course, the Psalm that is read before the weekday Grace after meals, a Psalm that sends the gentilized Jews rushing from the table in horror:
“O daughter of Babylon that art to be destroyed; Happy shall he be that repayeth thee as thou hast done to us. Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock” (Psalm 137).
And the Jews of Ashkenaz who created a prayer of vengeance in memory of the Jews massacred during the Crusades, a prayer that we read each Sabbath and that says: “May He avenge the blood of His servants which has been shed, as it is written in the Torah of Moses, the man of G-d: ‘O nations, make His people joyful! He avenges the blood of His servants, renders retribution to His foes and atones for His land and His people.’ And in the holy writings it says: ‘Why should the nations say, ‘where is their G-d?’”
And for the hapless and ignorantly hopeless who raise the half-a-cup of a Talmudic saying that G-d refused to allow the angels to rejoice over the downfall of the Egyptians. Let us forever torment the fraudulent by insisting on honesty and the complete text of the Talmudic saying:
“It is true that He does not rejoice but He causes others to rejoice.”
Of course the Almighty, the totality of Compassion, the Father of all, grieves for his children - all of them. He does not sing. His angels, who are not of this world, do not sing. But the Jews sing - and are commanded to do so. For the very same reason that the very same Almighty who does not sing, does destroy the work of His hands because they are evil.
Yes, of course He grieves that those who were made in His image have so perverted and destroyed the greatness of that image. That those who were made in the image of good, were so evil. In His grief He does not have pity. He destroys them: He knows that evil and He cannot share the same world. And thus do the rabbis declare (Shmot Raba 23): “‘Then did Moses and the children of Israel sing,’ this is what is meant by the verse (Psalms 9): ‘The L-rd is known by the judgment He executes.’ This speaks of Egypt who G-d smote at the Red Sea.” And Shmot Raba 23: “‘Then did Moses and the children of Israel sing.’ This is the meaning of the verse (Psalms 93): ‘Your throne was firm from then.’ Even though You exist from time immemorial, Your throne was not made firm and You were not made known in the world until your children sang. When You stood at the sea and we sang before You with “az” (then), then were your kingdom and throne made firm.”
Passover - the holiday that decrees the death and destruction of wickedness and not coexistence with it.

The question is often posed; how would Obama (as President) react if a telephone call is received at 3 am informing him that the U.S. had just been attacked. The presumed answer is that as someone inexperienced in foreign affairs, as compared to McCain- not all that well.
May I suggest,McCain, in his dotage, receiving this very same phone call would just as likely, turn off the ringer, and go back to sleep.

You can suggest any halucination or fantasy you want but that doesn’t make it credible.
Comment by Shy Guy — September 3, 2008 @ 4:34 pm
peskin: maybe you should wake up and see who the fatigued light weight is:
Obama “Everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma, they end up taking up a hospital bed, it costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early and they got some treatment, and a, a breathalyzer, or inhalator, not a breathalyzer. (crowd laughing) I haven’t had much sleep in the last 48 hours.”
Obama: “What they’ll say is, ‘Well it costs too much money,’ but you know what? It would cost, about… It — it — it would cost about the same as what we would spend… It… Over the course of 10 years it would cost what it would costs us… (nervous laugh) All right. Okay. We’re going to… It… It would cost us about the same as it would cost for about — hold on one second. I can’t hear myself. But I’m glad you’re fired up, though. I’m glad.”
And then there’s this absolutely bizare transcript I found:
BO: Uh oh, Lynn has a tape recorder, I am just coming back here to say hello. Hello
guys. There’s video cameras.
Q: How much sleep did you get last night?
BO: Not enough. How is everybody holding up? It was rowdier than the last time I was
there. People sort of like (inaudible.) So anyway, you guys all survived? Doing ok? You
know, well look he read a prayer that he had as a gift it was a book chronicling the whole,
the wall and the process.
Q: oh and he gave it to you?
BO: Yes and it was nice.
Q: So it wasn’t a holy book as our pool reporter told us?
BO: The first one, no no the first one was a Torah, but then the big book was a gift. It was
a nice coffee table book.
Q: You want to tell us what your prayer was?
BO: No.
Q: Do you want to tell us what (color) it was? (second question being asked at the same
time that was inaudible)
BO: It’s packed in there. Well listen I suffered in these seats for an ample amount of
time.
Q: So did we.
BO: You know there was not, in fact there was probably less leg room than this. My legs
kept bumping up in the original configuration.
- 2 -
Q: inaudible
BO: We’ll bring some (inaudible- believe it is “some of you up there”) but I am sleeping
right now. I am sleeping right now so you guys are not allowed.
Q: How much sleep have you had so far on this trip?
BO: You know not much. The way the schedule was structured I never got a chance to
adjust my hours. So you know you get in, you get in bed at about 11 and then at 3 in the
morning you just you know, has that been happening to anyone else. Now the difference
though is in mid afternoon you are not in some briefing because it catches up to you.
Q: So are you going to rest up tonight (inaudible—before the speech) ?
BO: You know I think we have some down time. What are you guys going to do in
Berlin? You got any big plans? You know Berlin pretty well? No. I have never been to
Berlin so this will be, I would love to tour around Berlin.
Q: Do you feel prepared to speak to a million screaming Europeans?
BO: I doubt we are going to have a million screaming Europeans.
Q: So half a million?
BO: Let’s tamp down expectations here. If we get tens of thousands.
Q: Let’s start a pool
BO: We could. I did not realize my staff basically just told me that this space is bigger
than I realized.
Q: Is that a good or bad thing?
BO: It is a potentially bad thing. We are sort of on the high wire all of the sudden. It’s
like wait how many does this accommodate? You know I don’t know, you know that is
true that might be (inaudible) why don’t you guys go hand out flyers. Is that a conflict, I
guess.
Q: inaudible
BO: Yea. So but no, this is one of those areas where we have no idea what to expect. I am
happy with the speech though.
Q: Is there any chance (inaudible—I believe it was did you have a chance to talk to
Iraqi’s)’
- 3 -
BO: No and that is the, the tough thing about the war zone is that you can’t talk to the
local population because it is just too controlled and that’s an advantage that the press
has. You can particularly now that it is a little safer, there is a possibility to interact. The
meetings that we had with the Sheiks and the (governor) and obviously they are public
figures and officials but my sense was that they were closer to the ground and gave me a
sense about ordinary Iraqi’s.
Q: Senator what’s the highlight of your trip so far?
BO: This. Yea. I had to earn it. I said when do I get a chance to go back and talk to the
press.

McCain’s judgement:
There is the question of due diligence. A president who doesn’t do his homework might confuse Baghdad for Paris, And what due diligence did Mr. McCain perform on Ms Palin? Fairly or unfairly , her 17 year old daughter’s pregnancy has become an issue for a candidate who has made family values an issue.
Mr, McCain didn’t do his homework and didn’t exercise good judgement. His decision has already proven to be a disaster. It could be a disaster with global consequences if she is ever to become the President.
Republican candidates are separating themselves from Bush as if he was someone with black syph and HIV positive. Ms Palin speaks of the Iraq war as being “ordained by God”.That is exactly the kind of words that the electorate, recalling the self righteous mumblings of Bush would like to forget.

Peskin are you on something? As a Canadian? You seem to be inordinately and emotionally involved and concerned in the National politics of another country , however close. In a different time not too long ago your ideas and opinions would be considered extremist. Today its called other things but it is still extremist by any definition. I can make a qualified prediction that within a very short time the whole concept of your kind of liberalism will be considered a dirty word and beyond the mainstream of American and probably even in Canada.
Barak Obama is a media created invention that except for America could not happen in any normal democratic society. The media will dump him at the first signs of failure, which will happen if McCain doesn’t self destruct. The real reason that he Obama will loose is that at her core America is still a racist country and is not yet ready to elect a black President. Maybe a Colin Powell might have overcome the race issue but he chickened out. You liberals will start to disintegrate with Obamas loss to the 2000 year old man. McCain with all of his deficiencies is not I think Bush and I do believe in spite of his apparent intellectual deficiencies his personal gain can be only patriotic public service. Integrity unless shown is a given with McCain unlike his younger (affirmative action) unqualified opponent. In this election unless McCain really does something stupid will win because middle America and the working man in America will see to it. In a democratic year they will loose because of race, and the good common sense of the average American. The Republicans need only get out maximum Republican vote and the will pick up enough of independent and cross overs from the democrats to win. Then I guess you will also disappear from this blog as you will have nothing to say, not that you have now but without you Arab Black Liberal (American?) pop IDOL, you can crawl back to your cave.

Peskin: You may not know this but it is quite possible for someone (e.g. Yamit) to institute a restraining order on yourself through INTERPOL.
It might read as follows.
Not to be found anywhere within a radius of 10 metres of a computer :For a specified period, say one or two years.
