Democrats have underestimated her to their peril.

McCain on the other hand has recognized her value to his credit.

  1. I do not wish to get in to a dispute about the merits of the Palin choice, but it should be known that a Republican delegate told a close friend that Lieberman was the McCain choice, and that the party biggies told McCain he could not have Lieberman as a choice and have any chance of winning. McCain was virtually forced to dump Lieberman to keep his base. That might or mioght have been the right thing to do, but at least that is what got him to make the late, last minute choice of Palin.

  2. david, Palin was in the group of finalists under consideration for months. Google “Palin VP” and you’ll see that her name had been in play as long ago as March. It’s no secret that all presidential candidates are advised by the party “biggies” and make their VP pick based on who is most likely to ensure victory for the ticket.

Lieberman will make a great Secretary of Defense or State and will have more power than that of the VP.
