Don’t Blame God, We Did it to Ourselves

by Bill Levinson

For here lay the excellent wisdom
of him that built Mansoul, that the walls
could never be broken down nor hurt
by the most mighty adverse potentate
unless the townsmen gave consent thereto.
    Bunyan’s Holy War.

Jeremiah Wright’s call for God to damn America was apparently answered tonight, but the decision to be damned was up to the American people. It is a common principle throughout the world that evil cannot enter a place unless someone opens the door to admit it. Many legends say that a vampire cannot enter a home unless someone opens the door to him, and everyone knows the legend of the Trojan Horse. On November 4, the United States damned itself by opening the door to Barack Obama.

We hope fervently that we are 100 percent wrong, and that Obama gives us occasion to apologize for what we have said about him. Right now, though, we hope our country survives long enough to clean Obama’s allies out of the Congress in 2010 (as the Republicans swept Congress in 1994) to limit further damage to our nation.

  3. I concede the outside possibility that Obama as an opportunist used all of those disreputable and for us disturbing associations as tools for advancement in attaining his present position. He might just prove to be in fact a pragmatic centrist leader. That said we all should know that there are no free lunches and Obama owes those associates and backers who got him where he is today. Will he pay the piper? Will he be controlled by those same Backers and important helpers?

The question like a dangling participle, the pregnant question is still out there: Who and what is the real BHO?

Looks like we might soon find out.

  5. Yamit you have it assbackwards.

Obama did not use his disreputable and disturbing friendships and associations to win the Presidency.

He has won the Presidency in spite of them and has thus managed to render irrelevant the well known expression filled with insight and truth, ‘by your friends and associates will you be known’.

It could well be that the electorate voted Obama into the Presidency, not so much because of who he is and what he promises, but rather because of their deep seated anger with Bush and the Republicans.

Obama certainly tapped into that anger in making the obviously false claim that McCain offered nothing different than Bush and thus McCain would bring 4 more years of Bushian governance. As false a claim a that was, McCain was not able to refute it in the minds of the electorate.

Interestingly, the war in Iraq (which is that most people who are angry at Bush were angry at him for) was not much of an issue on election day.

  7. Narvey: From the known history of Obama he allied himself with those who could within the narrow confines of the Chicago political mob. Ea connection helped him to advance and rise to a position he must have been planning and working toward from a young age. Some were Marxists,Anarchists,Black nationalist militants,Wealthy influential domestic and foreign Muslims, Arabs, Palestinians and the middle of the road straight people. Who ever could help him and assist him on his meteoric climb to the top. He leaves his cast aways on the field of battle and moves on. Those who have served their purpose and or those who could hurt him or hold him back are thrown under the bus.

This sums up what we know about him to date.

Why Americans chose him is not difficult to understand. Like Clinton before him bush was hated by more than half the country. When you lose another 10-20% above those who already hate them it hard to win elections. Americans I am sorry to say are just not very worldly and in truth quite dumb unless it revolves around perceived personal interests which we know as greed.

America has like the Romans degenerated into a Bread and Circuses values society. Most who voted for Obama AKA M. Jackson or Jesus reincarnated, have no rooted values except self interested materialism and most of that purchased with easy unsecured debt. Face it America is in decline and seems not to care ;just feed the mob with bread and circuses and you can get away with almost anything and by just about anyone that the mob believes will keep feeding it with what they have grown accustomed.

  8. I am beyond disgusted that Americans are so stupid and shallow as to fall for the empty rhetoric and empty promises of this empty suit, instead of looking beneath the surface. I am even more disgusted that apparently Americans are so lacking in self-respect that they would choose a candidate who, by his actions, has indicated he despises them.

Well, when “Jesus” proves unable to transform water into wine (or gasoline, which is of greater interest to the American consumer), the Democrats will lose their majority pretty quickly in 2010.
