  1. What are we to make of the Hussein’s election? 77-78% voted for Hussein Obama. The obvious lessons for we Israelis are:

First and foremost, don’t count on American Jews. They did nothing to help us in Holocaust or any of the Israeli wars. Their 77% support for Obama further confirms this fact: Israel for them is a painful reminder of their own Jewishness.

Obama is unpredictable because he is totally unprincipled. He is equally ready to socialize with Jews and heinous anti-Semites. He has no respect for the law (an illegal immigrant aunt, the latest in a long list). If AIPAC makes him eager for Jewish support, Obama might support Israel. That’s hardly realistic, as the American Jews don’t support strike on Iran or annexing Judea and Samaria. Under AIPAC’s pressure, Obama might supply Israel with some weapons, perhaps even abstain in the irrelevant US-Saudi arms deal, but would do nothing substantially positive for Israel.

Obama is not a self-righteous fanatic like Jimmy Carter and lacks his determination to bend Israeli will. We should expect significant pressure toward capitulating to Palestinians, but nothing like the Carteresque one. As usual, Israeli leaders will be able to duck temporarily and then obstruct the Administration’s decisions with myriad technicalities. Both Netanyahu and Livni’s governments will be too weak for a Sharon-type iron fist disengagement. Livni might be smart enough to abandon the remote settlements without forcibly evacuating them.

Obama’s associates present a greater danger to Israel because they will keep inciting the world’s leftists and Arabs against a stiff-necked Israel.

Obama will engage in what we might call “a Harvard approach” - endless talking on the presumption that the real-life conflicts can be settled like Harvard classroom disputes. Obama is yet to encounter the enemies who are determined, unpalatable, have different systems of values and the goals opposing to his.

  2. This is a sad day for Israel and Jews in particular. Why is it not strange to see Jews turn into lemings and follow the leader over the bluff?

  3. I will never understand the mind of liberal, left-leaning Jews, NEVER!
All Jews who voted for Obama voted against Israel and for the Palestinians.
I believe that there will be a surge in anti-Semitism the world over, including in the U.S. - the likes of which has never been witnessed. There will also be tremendous anti-Israeli sentiment in the Obama administration - despite rhetoric to the contrary.
I hope and pray that the next Israeli government will possess the leaders who will oppose and resist the pressure that Obama and his advisors will place upon Israel.

MAY THE SELF-RIGHTEOUS JEWS WHO VOTED FOR OBAMA BE JUDGED ACCORDINGLY BY OUR ALMIGHTY CREATOR!

  4. Yamit,

Thank you for letting non-Jewish (i.e. “Christian”) voters off the hook. In the US, Jews voted against Israel by 78:21; Christians voted 51:48. You can say American Christians are “Anti-Semitic”; but Jews are FIVE TIMES AS ANTI-SEMITIC AS CHRISTIANS. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. It takes a lot of chutpah for a Jew to criticize a Christian, with obvious facts like these.

  5. The Jewish American electorate was a lot more intelligent than most people gave them credit for.

When they read and heard the stuff directed at them by the all- knowing Mavens, they made a sound judgement.

    If it looked like shit

    If it smelled like shit

    they concluded:

    It must be shit

    And they voted accordingly.

Now, please move on to the next topic-this is getting awfully tedious.

  8. Oat- Just because non-Jews voted for Obama doesn’t necessarily make them xtian. You just can’t help sticking it to the Jews.

  9. I saw that exit poll number at the NYT website, and went into the state by state exit polls. New York did not have an exit poll number for Jews.

    1) what makes you think any Jew would tell the truth? 2) incredible effort by Jewish Dems in congress to convince voters in the interest of party unity, 3) Palin seemed to stop the momentum.

I take it as an interesting sign that Obama first hired the entire Clinton economic team since his campaign was never about the economy. Then he picked Podesta to manage the transition. Now he’s picked Rahm Emmanuel to be Chief of Staff. Emmanuel stayed uncommitted until the morning of the AIPAC speech. I assumed he helped write that speech because it was so different from what the Obama base spews.

Even more intriguing. Tonight, I was called for a survey on my attitude towards Jewish charities at my New York number. Surprising number of questions to measure my support for Israel and Jewish identity that were not related to Jewish charities.

I guess the Democratic Party decided they could not afford to lose either of their two most loyal constituencies.

And we’ll see what happens when reality bites. My personal favorite speculation is to see who challenges Schumer for 2010.

  10. Obama proved his mettle as a leader by remaining cool under fire wheras McCain faltered when the stress and strain became particularly tough.

Obama articulated a clear comprehensive program to counter the economic crunch, McCain offered little other than vague promises of tax cuts.

McCain introduced negative electioneering by accusing Obama of being socialistic whilst being totally on board with the partial nationalizing of the banking system. This charge seemed particularly hollow in view of the fact that Obama’s main economic consultants were such leftists as Volker and Buffet.

Obama won because he deserved to win; he waged a far superior campaign.

I am a strong believer in spreading the wealth of my criticism. LOL
I don’t see your connection? I am against antisemites whether Jew (pesky: as an example) or gentile like yourself. I am more disturbed by the Jewish behavior less for myself than for them. Those who refuse to learn from their own long history will pay the ultimate price. In this I have no doubts. Because I care about Jews and not Christians, my concerns, criticism and warnings if you will, are for them more than myself.

Antisemites like yourself are a nuisance, a distraction from the larger issues concerning Jews and Jewish continuance as a people , culture and faith. While Jews have never really been united as a people throughout most of our long history. We have paid a terrible price for this, but it does not mean that in this critical time one can not hope that was has been will at this time be different. Apparently its not to be.

  12. The Jewish American electorate was a lot more intelligent than most people gave them credit for.

Is this to mean that most viewed Jews till now as unintelligent but now have passed the intelligence test?

Now, please move on to the next topic-this is getting awfully tedious.

You are cordially invited to speak only for yourself and if you find this topic or any others you do have options I am sure.
So soon after your Lord and savior’s elevation , you deem to attempt partisan dictate to others? So like undemocratic leftists.

  13. Bird, you are correct that no one can really know how anyone voted in fact but there is no data or reason not to believe that vast majority of Jews did in fact vote for Obama. It matters little if 65 or 80% voted for Obama. In the end they voted like a mindless mob and not out of intelligent self interest. This behavior refutes the premise of game theory. That is: most people make personal decisions based on their own perceived self interests.
