This question is folly. Just as the so-called “moderate” Arab regimes hate the Jews and Israel more than they fear Iran, so Europeans, by and large, hate the Jews and Israel more than they fear the creeping tide of Islam. Hatred of Israel and all its inevitable consequence will ultimately win out throughout Europe.
Daniel Pipes would do well to spend his time asking, will America resist Islamization, as America appears to be following Europe in many ways.

“A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. The story of the Archangel Michael fighting against the Dragon is based upon a literal, true story of what took place in heaven when there was a physical war between God’s Angels and Satan’s Angels before the Creation of the world.
Satan was not strong enough in pre-earth history to fight against God and was cast out of heaven by God’s Warriors: Michael and his Angels. One of the many reasons I chose Michael for my pen name is that I respect the Archangel’s appointment of fighting against the Dragon and winning and hope that one day I will get to join his campaign for the protection and security of Israel against all enemies of the Statehood of the God of Israel.
After the devil got his butt kicked out of heaven by Michael, Satan’s anger would turn from heaven and be ventilated towards the human race. Knowing that his time to prove his cause for raising hell would be short, he would attempt to destroy whoever would swear allegiance to the God of Israel both in Israel and in Christendom. The original Satanic strategy was to dethrone God forever and replace him with alternative gods.
Satan hates Christians and Jews because they love & follow the God of Israel as Lord and Messiah.
He has devised clever ways to oppress, silence, and hurt God’s Children. He did it through the Roman Empire and after His Power over Rome was destroyed after the Great Persecution of Christians during the first 300 years, he moved on to the shores of Arabia where he would give his power and authority to a false god that would eventually be accepted by the entire world.
As surely Satan hands his authority to the beast and the false prophet, in the last days, he might very well arise from the future Roman Empire, the EEC (European Economic Community), which means that an alliance between Allah, Muhammad, and an Islamic Ruler such as the Head of the PLO, would form with Europe.
We have already begun to witness the European Economic Union support of the PLO financially throughout the whole Peace Process, so we can easily foresee that the great oppressor of Jews and Christians during the first three hundred years of Christianity within the Roman Empire’s Emperors, moves on to the shores of a sea where the beast and the false prophet receive their power from that ancient serpent called the devil who leads the whole world astray.
The woman in Revelation 12 refers to Jerusalem. The dragon could symbolize the Roman Empire’s conquest of Christian-Jews in Jerusalem, who had just given birth to the Messiah, Jesus. It can be undisputed that Revelation 12 has to do with the adversary of God’s people being the Roman rulers, not only in history, but perhaps in the present as well.
Historically, Rome had 12 horns of Caesars in history who ruled the Roman Empire and ruthlessly persecuted the woman, Jerusalem, & the Messiah’s followers who had just been given birth there. Until Constantine became emperor, the 12 Caesars of the Dragon Rome ate Jerusalem’s flesh and burned her with fire. They were:

Historically, the Dragon Satan carried the Roman Empire against Jews and Christians.
In the future, the Roman Satan gives his authority to the beast and his false prophet, which we have concluded as Allah and Muhammad, the abomination of desolation.
If the Dragon represents Roman Satan in Revelation 12, then the adversary of God’s people, the Satan within the Dragon would have been the Roman rulers of the first 300 years of the Christian Church which was greatly persecuted during those terrible times.
Even Julian the Apostate could have been included in the equation of Satan’s ten horns in Revelation 12.
Not only do we see SATAN’S horns in history, but also in the modern EEC or the Club of Rome, who has sponsored the establishment of Islamic Palestine with millions of dollars, healing the wound of an Islamic State that has not been given the honor of royalty, yet is worshipped by the right hands of the world’s political leaders.
The Club Of Rome had its beginnings in April of 1968, when leaders from 10 different countries gathered in Rome at the invitation of Aurelio Peccei, a prominent Italian industrialist with close ties to the FIAT and Olivetti Corporations.
The organization claims to have the solutions for WORLD PEACE AND PROSPERITY. However, these solutions always seem to promote the concept of WORLD GOVERNMENT at the expense of national sovereignty.
The CLUB OF ROME has overseen the unification of the entire world.
On September 17, 1973 the Club released one such report, entitled Regionalized and Adaptive Model of the Global World System, prepared by COR members Mihajlo Mesarovic and Eduard Pestel. The document reveals that the Club has divided the world into TEN political/economic regions, which it refers to as “kingdoms.” Aurelio Peccei, the Club of Rome’s founder stated: “Their world model, based on new developments of the multilevel hierarchical systems theory, divides the world into TEN interdependent and mutually interacting regions of political, economic or environmental coherence. It will be recognized of course that these are still prototype models. Mesarovic and Pestel have assumed a Herculean task. The full implementation of their work will take many years.”

Our Dragon of Rome, with the ten horns, might mirror history within its future. We may have already seen the fulfillment of Revelation 12 and 13 in our history and all that is left of prophecy fulfillment is Revelation 20 and the 6 bowls and trumpets that accompany the final war in Israel.
The ultimate strategy of this Dragon in history was the persecution of the woman Jerusalem, who had given birth to the Messiah, Jesus, and Revelation 20 clearly tells us that an angel, “Seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years…When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth…to gather them for battle.”
The Dragon of Rome’s history would appear in the future to deceive the nations of the world into gathering their militaries together against Jerusalem, Israel. This Satan, according to Revelation 20 is released after THE MILLENNIUM is over. One might conclude that he was released in 2001 as the New Millennium began.

The European Union (EU) was set up after the 2nd World War. The process of European integration was launched on 9 May 1950 when France officially proposed to create ‘the first concrete foundation of a European federation’. Six countries (Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) joined from the very beginning. Ezekiel points to Gog as being a Russian ruler; Daniel points to ‘the king of the north’ as a Syrian ruler; Revelation 12 refers to a Roman ruler; while the beast and the false prophet point to Islamic Allah, Muhammad, and someone like Yasser Arafat (who will come to his end and no one will help him).
SATAN would not be ONE WORLD RULER, per say, but he might work through a NETWORK of nations who worship him.
The final battle, contrary to the movie MEGIDDO, will not involve Satan standing on the battlefield, but standing behind the scenes, probably from a television screen in some dark office hole in Rome.
When reviewing history, we must not also forget about the circumstances Christians were under when John wrote the Book of Revelation.
The woman, Jerusalem, had just given birth to the Messiah, Jesus, who was snatched up to God and His Throne. We must not forget that Satan approached Christ after he had fasted for forty days and forty nights and it was at Christ’s hungriest point that Satan approached Christ. It is when the world has arrived at its hungriest point that Satan promises world Peace, Security, and Prosperity causing deception to lead all the nations in the four corners astray. You will either join his government and be prosperous or reject his government and die.
He deceives the nations so well, that the final result becomes a campaign to surround Jerusalem in the last days with his ONE WORLD armies. It would not be surprising if he was still lurking around in the shadows of history up through the rise of Islam.
Today, we can assume the worst—that he is alive in a high position of financial power, which has a vast network of commercial and financial unity that would always conceal his individual identity.
Satan may not even be a political figure, but might be working behind the financial world as a corporate guru. We don’t know.
Could we point at former President Bill Clinton, President Putin of Russia, former Vice President Al Gore, a Rockefeller or a Rothschild and say, “YOU ARE THE DEVIL?” No.
Although Bill Clinton/Al Gore standing with Yasser Arafat could be a colorful metaphor to describe Satan and the Anti-Christ shaking hands during a Peace Process meant to be broken and destroy Israel, only when Jesus returns will this “MAN OF LAWLESSNESS” be revealed. The one who opposes everything that is called God or is worshipped as God, while proclaiming to be GOD will be revealed as Christ destroys him by His Second Coming.
What we do know today is that Satan will be the one who unites the whole world together to gather it for battle against Jerusalem.
His troops are a NETWORK of the WHOLE WORLD and not just one nation or empire. In other words, he might not just unite solely Rome, or solely Russia, but ALL NATIONS in a massive GLOBAL movement which all the Bible scholars have predicted will become a brief reality in earth’s future, even as it is already a reality now.
The seven heads and 10 horns of the Dragon of Rome could include the Roman rulers just outlined, even Mussolini. Here is a small outline of possibilities as to what Revelation 12 could symbolize historically:

As an example of a Roman Ruler being revived, Mussolini, who ruled the Italian Fascist Party from 1919-1943 A.D., tried to revive the wounded head of Rome just as surely Hitler was trying to heal the wounded head of Germany. Mussolini, in his alliance with Hitler, gave Hitler some power. If the beast out of the sea does not refer to the Beast of Islam, the religion wounded by the sword and yet lives, then what if the beast out of the sea could refer to the rise of Hitler and Nazi Germany? The new “emperor” of Rome, Mussolini, stood upon the shores of Italy’s seas and as he attempted to revive Roman authority, another beast arises from the sea of Europe and Mussolini helped that beast establish his throne and his great authority through the alliance he established with him.
We also have the European Economic Community and the CLUB OF ROME as part of our “last days” Satanic Network giving the beast and the false prophet their power and throne and great authority, while the whole world worships them.
Hitler also fits the profile of ‘the beast out of the sea’ in Revelation 13.
In a serialized newspaper story of the first days of Hitler, Hitler was amused as he stated, “Our small committee which in reality consisted of SEVEN HEADS and represented the entire party was nothing more than the head of a small skat club.”
Hitler was wounded by a mustard gas attack from the British. Among the men rescued from the mustard gas attack from the British was 29-year old Adolf Hitler in mid-October 1918. As a train carried him, Hitler had almost collapsed. His eyes were swollen shut and his face was all puffed up. He had experienced inflammation of the mucous membrane and swelling of the eyelids that caused him to go blind for several weeks. After medical treatment during those several weeks, he began to regain his vision. Not only had Hitler been wounded by the sword of war, but Germany, the great head of Germany, which had originally conquered the Roman Empire and ended its dominion over the earth in medieval history, had also been wounded by the sword of war and suffered economic turmoil. Hitler did not like the fact that certain foreigners called ‘Jews’ were successful and prosperous within his own country while his own people suffered due to a bad economy. Despite Hitler’s war wounds, he had been healed of his wounds through medical treatment. He was later to become the 7th head of a committee that would heal wounded Germany. We see in Hitler and Mussolini two ‘little horns’ who started small but grew in power, just like Muhammad. What we are looking for is a person or a nation wounded to the point of death and yet lives, just like Hitler and Muhammad were both wounded in battle and yet lived.
After one of Hitler’s speeches, a hundred new members enrolled in the German Workers’ Party. At Hitler’s insistence a list of members had already been drawn up and membership cards were issued. To give the impression of size, the first card was numbered 501, with the members listed in alphabetical order. Hitler was number 555! Although the number of Hitler’s name was not 666 and the number of his name was 555, 111 below the number 666, it serves as an excellent, colorful illustration of Biblical prophecy being fanned into flame, even if Hitler and Mussolini have nothing to do with Revelation prophecy. The example of his name being 555 is a helpful illustration when evaluating the possibilities of who 666 is or will be.
Hitler uttered proud words and blasphemies and he exercised his authority from 1933 to 1945. If Hitler was the beast out of the sea, then 42 months would be symbolic of his 12-year reign as Fuhrer of Germany. He opened his mouth to blasphemy the God of Israel, the God of the Jews and slandered the Jewish God and their Jewish beliefs. The Jews all over Europe were terribly persecuted. He was given power, by election, to make war against the Jewish saints and to conquer them.
Hitler said, “And so I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator. In standing guard against the Jew I am defending the handiwork of the Lord.”
Like Muhammad, the false prophet of Arabia, so did Hitler blasphemy the God of Israel with his own self-made religion. Men worshipped Mussolini, the new Dragon of resurrected Rome, but they also worshipped Hitler asking, “Who is like Hitler? Who can make war against him?” Hitler made war against the Jewish saints and conquered them – 6 million to be exact. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation in Europe. He started out with a committee of seven heads and he was one of the seven heads wounded in battle, yet lived. He waged war against Jerusalem’s children and had them executed in various ways. Hitler had a mouth like a lion, feet like a bear, exerting absolute strength, power, and dominion and he resembled a leopard which is swift and fast when it runs. People went into captivity worldwide and they were killed with the sword of death.
The tail of Germany included: Poland, Czechoslavakia, Austria, France, Norway, Finland, Part of the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Romania, Switzerland, Denmark, The Netherlands, Greece, Part of Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Italy (who helped Hitler establish his dominion over the earth), Japan, Thailand, Manchuria, Korea, Singapore, Dutch East Indies, Burma, Indochina, Philippines, New Guinea, most of the kings from the East, and 8 other North African states. These were all part of the ‘AXIS UNITY.’
‘The Axis Unity’ joined Hitler & Mussolini for the ideals of World Dominion and thus sprang World War II. The result of Mussolini and Hitler and the kings from the east trying to dominate the earth was:

Of the 11,000,000 (11 million) people exterminated by the Nazis, 6,000,000 (6 million) were Jews. 6 million of the God of Israel’s people were exterminated by the command of that beast out of the red Nazi Sea! These statistics are the result of one horn who started small but grew in power with proud words and blasphemies. This colorfully illustrates how devastating World War III will be when the antichrist arises in the Middle East against the inhabitants of Israel. During those days, volcanoes, meteorites, nuclear bombs, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, tidal waves, hailstorms, etc. will devastate the whole face of the earth so that men will have to flee to go underground to try to get refuge from the coming disasters.
As for Germany:
THE FIRST REICH = Charlemagne in 800 A.D. and ended by Napoleon in 1806 A.D.
THE SECOND REICH = Began in 1871 with the unification of Germany & continued until 1918.
The second Reich of Germany was defeated in World War I.
THE THIRD REICH = Began in 1933 when Hitler became the Prime Minister of Germany.
The mark of Hitler was a Swastika on the left arm and an eagle on the forehead. Another possibility for the future is another secular Nazi German ruler who arises in the name of Hitler in the last days, forms an alliance with the Muslims and fulfills Biblical prophecy. There could be another Reich in the future. Germany revives the image of Hitler and helps Islam destroy Israel. China revives the image of Buddha and forms and Islamic alliance. Russia forms an alliance with Iran to attack Israel. Rome forms a treaty with Islam to attack Israel. NATO joins forces with Islam to destroy Israel. Who knows?
Since the Nazi goal was to eliminate Jewish influence from every facet of German life, in 1933, 5,392 German Jews sought entry into Palestine and were admitted. About 30,000 German Jews fled to other places in Western Europe, Britain and the United States. In October 1933, Arab rioters attacked public buildings in Jerusalem, Jaffa, and Nablus because of the growth of Jewish immigrants to Palestine. The British, however, drove back the rioters, killing at least 26 Arabs. Nazi propaganda broadcasts came to Syria, Egypt & Palestine and created Arab hostility towards Jewish immigrants.
What did the final result of Nazi persecution of Jews in Europe finally bring about? The re-establishment of the Nation of Israel 3 years after Hitler’s death. In the last days, Israel as a Nation, will bring about a rebellion that causes its own desolation and peace treaties will be broken. A ruler who yet will come, will receive authority to burn Israel with fire, just as Hitler did to the Jews of Europe during World War II.
Therefore, the woman of Revelation 12 refers to Jewish Jerusalem whose Messiah was snatched up to God’s Throne & the dragon refers to the spirit of Satan at work in the Roman Empire’s conquest of Jewish Jerusalem and her children.
The beast out of the sea is influenced with the same spirit that possessed Rome against the Christians because the LIAR gives the beast his power and authority.
Satan, the ruler of Roman Emperors stands on the shore of a sea and hands his power and authority to the beast out of the sea and the beast out of the earth exalts his name and forces everyone to accept the name of this man who slanders God, His Dwelling Place, and those who live in Heaven with a counterfeit god made to look like God.
Jerusalem is clothed with the sun meaning that she is clothed with the greater light of the world and she is also robed in a lake of fire and the fire consumes her light and the earth. The moon under Jerusalem’s feet could either be the Lunar Festivals of Jewish Holy Days, Passovers, etc., or the moon under Jerusalem’s feet could be a reference to the symbol of the crescent moon and the star erected on Islamic mosques.
In the Torah, Genesis 17:20 says – “As for Ishmael, I have heeded you. I hereby bless him…..He shall be the father of TWELVE CHIEFTAINS and I will make of him a great nation.” The Islamic sunlight dawning on Jerusalem and the symbol of its crescent moon, under her feet, and the twelve stars of Arabian chiefs is another possibility. The crown of twelve stars could refer to the twelve tribes of Israel or the twelve apostles of the Lamb. The fact that the moon is under the feet of Jerusalem could be a prophecy that the New Jerusalem of Jesus Christ will trample on the Islamic crescent moon, lighted by the devil, and will be made a footstool for her feet, and will be victorious with the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles of Jesus.
Satan’s power over Rome fell when the Romans became a Christian society and all of Europe eventually embraced Christianity during the Reign of Constantine (313-337 A.D.) Since Satan died in Rome when Rome accepted Christianity as the official Religion and the word of Christ prevailed in Byzantine Europe, Satan moved on to the shores of another sea. Satan then handed his authority to the beast out of the sea [Allah].
Satan may have already rose up from the modern European Economic Community or the United Nations to deceive the whole world for the final World War. We also might consider that Satan could come out of the United States of America as a President. Gog, in the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 comes out of ‘the far north’ so we could conclude this ‘far north’ as either Rome, North America, or Russia. We don’t know and won’t know until it finally happens.
The beast out of the earth exalts and glorifies the name and image of the beast out of the sea whom the great deceiver gives his authority to. Of course, Satan may have returned to Rome when he was released from his prison in Revelation 20. The European Economic Community has factually restored Rome to power and dominion over the earth and the great Adversary is destined to use them as part of the equation in fulfilling his mission: Destroy Israel and destroy Christianity. Attacking the Holy City, the Temple Mount of God is his ultimate game plan.
Satan accepts other religions and will promote and advocate any thought, idea, or philosophy contrary to the Bible.
Today, the Cross of our Savior is empty and Jesus is alive in Heaven, watching the earth and waiting for His Children to wake up to the Truth before He returns. It is up to us as individuals who believe in Christ as the Savior of all people to stand up for the Gospel.
If we don’t, Satan wins.
If we resist him with this great Faith, we will be victorious. We can resist the devil through love and not through hate and violence.
The goal of Islam as expressed by the devil is hatred against Israel and the destruction of the God of Israel through Jesus Name. The goal of God in Jesus Name is to save the whole world and not condemn it.
Satan knows the Biblical prediction about his coming punishment and so he is trying to make himself like Christ, being a martyr for his own cause and case against God and he will try to take as many human beings down to hell with him as he can. Satan is a murderer and a liar and has no love of God or His Creation, no respect, no honor, and no class. Marylyn Manson, the Satanic Rock Star, portrays himself crucified in the place of Jesus and this is how Satan views himself: Replacing Christ on the Cross by turning the Cross upside down. If he must burn in the lake of fire, then his symbol becomes the fire. If the Star of David is to become victorious then it is his goal to turn that Star of David upside down.
If God wants the whole world to turn to Him in Jesus Name, then like the Muslims, he will cause the whole world to turn their backs on God’s Holy Mountain in Jerusalem and pray in a different direction so as to somehow turn God into the liar and warmonger.
What the darkness does not understand is that God’s Light shines through the darkness meaning that the blood of Jesus Christ covers the sins of the whole world, even Muslims. Nearly 1.5 billion Muslims bow in the wrong direction towards a false prophet and a false god, yet, the blood of Christ has covered their sins and on Judgment Day, God’s Plan in the Truth of Jesus Christ will prevail over the abomination of Satanic lies which brought division and destruction.
Our story of Biblical history began in Jerusalem and will end in Jerusalem, but God’s Promise for those who are faithful to the end is Eternal Life with Him in a Kingdom where we shall see His Face and never be harmed by the strategies, schemes, and evils of the enemy again.
Let us not forget that Satan masquerades as an angel of light and is extremely intelligent and the only way to expose him for who and what he is will be to remain true to God in His Holy Spirit and repentance through His Law.
The SATAN of Revelation 20 is now a NETWORK of UNITED NATIONS and not just one ruler coming out of one nation. He is not likely going to come out with a big Masonic X on his head and tell the whole world, “Here I am! Ready to be your god! Let’s fight against the God of Israel once and for all!” Like in Masonry, he will be clothed in secrecy and will most likely never be a visible politician, though someone with the character of Bill Clinton or Al Gore could certainly prove me wrong..
Ezekiel 38:5 says – “Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah FROM THE FAR NORTH with all its troops—the many nations with you.”
Gog is definitely descriptive of the Satan of the last days mentioned in Revelation 20:7 which says—“When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle.”
Ezekiel 38:1-4 says – “The word of the Lord came to me: ‘Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.”
Ezekiel’s prophecy here pinpoints what exact nations will be joined with Satan’s troops:
1. PERSIA, which is now IRAN, IRAQ, and part of AFGHANISTAN, are joined with Gog’s troops. The national religion of these nations is over 90% Islamic.
2. CUSH is the name of Ham’s first son (Genesis 10:6). The descendants of Cush, the Cushites, became an Egyptian tribe. CUSH = EGYPT AND/OR BABYLONIA & ASSYRIA (Presently Iraq). Egypt will be joined with Gog’s troops. Cush was also the father of Nimrod who built Babylon and many cities in Shinar, present day Iraq. He also built Ninevah.
3. PUT is the name of Ham’s 3rd son (Genesis 10:6). Put settled in the land of LIBYA. The Libyans are the descendants of Put. PUT == LIBYA &/or TUNISIA. Libyans are joined with Gog’s troops. Libya is mainly an Islamic state which was ruled by an Islamic terrorist named Khadafi for quite some time.
4. GOMER was the 1st son of Japheth and MAGOG was the second son of Japheth (Genesis 10:2). The third son of Gomer was Togarmah. Gomer is believed to have settled in the lands of Greece and Macedonia. If we can exactly trace where the descendants of Noah first settled we will have solved Ezekiel 38 quite rapidly. Therefore if research done by scholars is correct, then GOMER = GREECE & MACEDONIA possibly connecting Syria as both Rome and Greece annexed Syria and Palestine during their dominion. MAGOG, Japheth’s 2nd son, is said to have become the father of a Scythian people who inhabited the regions southeast of the Black Sea and adjacent to those regions ‘in the north.’ Some scholars say that MAGOG is the father of the people of Russia and that Russia will somehow bring about the end of the world. If this research is correct then RUSSIA or Islamic factions of Russia will join Gog’s troops.
5. MESCHECH was Japheth’s 6th son.(Genesis 10:2) Gog is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. MESCHECH is believed to have settled in what is now TURKEY. They settled in the land of the Hittites (Asia Minor). MESCHECH = TURKEY. Gog is the chief prince of TURKEY and Turkey is currently an Islamic Nation.
Therefore, the NATIONS, currently under Islamic oppression, joined with Satan’s troops in Ezekiel 38
are:

In Daniel 7, the NATIONS are:

3. LEOPARD/GOAT of GREECE = SYRIA/GREECE/MACEDONIA/PALESTINE
4. FRIGHTENING BEAST = ROME or ISLAMIC ARABIA
Jesus told John in the Book of Revelation to write to the 7 churches in Asia Minor (in what is now modern Turkey whose Islamic capitol is Istanbul) and the first three chapters of Revelation cover the Christian Churches that began in this area.
Jesus said in Revelation 2:13 – “I know where you live – where SATAN has his throne.” This was written to the Church of Christ in Pergamum which was the ancient capital of Asia Minor (Turkey). Christ Jesus names a faithful witness, Antipas, who was put to death in ‘your city—where Satan lives.’
Although Jesus was being figurative of the type of spirit that ruled Asia Minor in John’s generation, this is also a helpful illustration for the fact that the nation of modern-day TURKEY still has the throne of Satan in it as the false prophet and the false god are worshipped in this state.
As stated previously, according to scholarly interpretations, Ezekiel points to Gog as being a Russian ruler; Daniel points to ‘the king of the north’ as a Syrian ruler; Revelation 12 refers to a Roman ruler; while the beast and the false prophet point to Islamic Allah, Muhammad, and someone like Yasser Arafat (who will come to his end and no one will help him).
Daniel 11 emphasized that ‘the king of the north’ was a king coming out of Syria who would annex Egypt, Libya, and African Nubians as he pitched his tents between the seas at Jerusalem. He would praise an ‘abomination that causes desolation’ standing on the Temple Mount where it doesn’t belong.
“Many Nations” perhaps from the United Nations will be joined with Satan’s network of empires allied together against Israel’s Jerusalem. Satan will be the prince of the land of Turkey as well. Iran will also be joined with Gog’s troops.
Let us once again understand first of all that the SATAN of REVELATION 20, may not be just a single person or individual who stands up in front of the entire world community with his “GOD” complex. He might very well be a NETWORK of NATIONS united together. “His troops are as numerous as the sands on the seashore.” This should tell us that he is not alone. He will have control over the world’s political forum and establish his own cause in attempting to destroy Jewish Jerusalem.
Satan, will give Allah, the beast, and Muhammad, the false prophet, power, authority, and ability to attack Israel. Those who attack Israel in the names of Allah & Muhammad will have their spiritual mark in their hands and in their foreheads, just as Christians have Jesus as the Messiah in their hands and in their foreheads, and just as Jews have the God of Israel as their seal within their foreheads and within their hands.
According to Ezekiel’s prophecy, Satan will rise up in the empire of the Gog of the last days. Gog will come from his place ‘in the far north’ to attack the camp of God’s Holy People. In addition to the northern Syrian king of Daniel, the Russian Gog of Ezekiel, and the European Rome of Revelation 12, the chief prince of Turkey will form a treaty within the United Nations which will grant the world armies the authority to surround Israel’s Jerusalem in order to take over.

I most definitely disagree with Pipes’ assessment that the response to Fitna was a “relatively constrained reaction”! The response was orchestrated, widespread, rapid, and powerful–it was just a response of a different nature than happened with the Danish cartoons or Sudan’s teddy bear lady.
My personal preference is that Daniel Pipes would just go away, as I hold him partly to blame for the whole imprecise and dangerous “moderate” versus “extremist” approach in the war on terror.
