Obama’s pathetic message to Muslims

By Ted Belman

What follows is two great articles that illustrate how pathetic and misguided Obama’s message was.

Charles Krauthammer says Outreach, Yes. Apology, No. We’ve Never Been Islam’s Enemy

[..] As in Obama’s grand admonition: “We cannot paint with a broad brush a faith as a consequence of the violence that is done in that faith’s name.” Have “we” been doing that, smearing Islam because of a small minority? George W. Bush went to the Islamic Center in Washington six days after the Sept. 11 attacks, when the fires of Ground Zero were still smoldering, to declare “Islam is peace,” to extend fellowship and friendship to Muslims, to insist that Americans treat them with respect and generosity of spirit.

And America listened. In these seven years since Sept. 11 — seven years during which thousands of Muslims rioted all over the world (resulting in the death of more than 100) to avenge a bunch of cartoons — there’s not been a single anti-Muslim riot in the United States to avenge the massacre of 3,000 innocents. On the contrary. In its aftermath, we elected our first Muslim member of Congress and our first president of Muslim parentage.

“My job,” says Obama, “is to communicate to the American people that the Muslim world is filled with extraordinary people who simply want to live their lives and see their children live better lives.” That’s his job? Do the American people think otherwise? Does he think he is bravely breaking new ground? George Bush, Condoleezza Rice and countless other leaders offered myriad expressions of that same universalist sentiment. [..]

Amir Taheri describes Obama’s Misguided Outreach

[..] Obama should remember that he is the president of the United States - not an impartial broker. It was unfortunate that he described himself as a bridge. For a bridge has no personality of its own and cares little about who might cross it and in which direction.

IF this was meant as the first direct contact between Obama and the Muslim world, the Al-Arabiya interview must be rated as a missed opportunity.

Obama’s remarks about the Israel-Palestine issue were so trite as to merit no analysis. He said he was sending former Sen. George Mitchell to listen to all sides - as if the world has not been hearing their stories for more than six decades.

The president appeared apologetic, offering no hope for democratization and economic development. He made no mention of the economic meltdown that is creating unprecedented mass unemployment in many countries of the region.

Nor did he offer any support to democratic forces facing crucial elections in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Egypt and Algeria this year.

He had nothing to say about the thousands of Iranian workers who have been thrown into prison solely because they created independent trade unions. Nor did he mention Iranian women’s courageous “a million signatures campaign” or the series of student revolts that have been crushed by the mullahs with exceptional violence.

Nor was there any nod toward reformers in Saudi Arabia and Egypt or the heroic Lebanese democratic leaders who are fighting to preserve their nation’s independence from Iran and Syria.

Obama didn’t call for the release of the tens of thousands of political prisoners held in more than two dozen Muslim countries or a moratorium on executions that each year cost the lives of hundreds of dissidents.

CASTING himself in the role of a “bridge” and dreaming of a return to an illusionary past, Obama appeared unsure of his own identity and confused about the role that America should play in global politics. And that is bad news for those who believe that the United States should use its moral, economic and political clout in support of democratic forces throughout the world.

  2. Obama has big ideas and a huge vision for the future where he is busy casting himself not only as the saviour of America, but the saviour of the world.

Charles Krauthammer’s piece paints Obama as the self aggrandizing egomaniac that he is. Amir Taheri adds to that very unflattering image.

    Lets take stock.

Obama is the one who for 20 years attended the Holy Trinity Chuch in Chicago, led by Pastor J. Wright whom Obama spoke fondly and respectfully of as his pastor, his friend, his adviser, his mentor and even godfather for his children.

One thing about pastor Wright though. He was and remains a raving white and Jew hating racist.

When the truth of Rev. Wright emerged, Obama was forced to deliver a speech and a masterful speech it was.

So masterful in fact, that the Liberal American media in love with Obama and pushing to public to love him as well, suspended their disbelief in taking Obama at his word that in all his 20 year relationship with Rev. Wright, he never heard Rev. Wright speak such racist views.

So masterful was Obama’s speech that in denying the obvious that Rev. Wright was a racist, he then threw his beloved grandmother under the bus by calling her a racist only to have the beguiled media and Obama’s adoring public not even blink at his obvious lies about Rev. Wright and his crude audaciousness as regards his grandmother.

When Wright later made a statement that painted Obama as a person who says things for political gain, Obama confessed he had heard Wright say some nasty things which he did not elaborate on but said he disagreed with and then cut his ties with Wright. Again the media and the public so in love with Obama overlooked he had admitted he had lied about his past association with Rev. Wright and instead Rev. Wright was lambasted for going public as he did and again Obama was praised for severing his ties with Wright.

Wow. What noble gestures on the part of Obama.

Now he prostrates himself before the Muslim world, declaring that America is not their enemy and reaches out an open hand for those wonderful halcyon days of the golden age of American - Arab/Muslim relations 20 - 30 years ago. Both Taheri and Krauthammer put the lie to Obama’s words.

It is really however not so much Obama lying as he is revealing is abysmal ignorance of even the recent history of the Middle East.

The pundits in the Obama loving media and the public still ga ga with adulation over Obama seem to forget how Obama’s attack dogs during the campaign and the Democratic big mouths took great delight in mocking and heaping their scorn on Sarah Palin who was ripped by the Obama loving media for her ignorance on some topics.

Well, Obama has displayed he is no better informed then Palin. The problem with that is that Obama is the one running the country. I wonder whether the Obama loving media will even notice just how dangerous a path America is on as regards the Middle East with the ignorant egomaniac Obama at the helm of America?

How long can Obama carry this charade off that he is the saviour of America and the world and get American’s to stay the course with him, which course he now claims after seizing the Presidency is going to be tougher and take a lot more time then he had first declared.

Obama is all about Obama and he is bent on saying and doing anything to enhance his own prestige, even when it is at the expense of America and Americans.

Ordinarily Americans don’t like preachy, holier then thou, self aggrandizing, arrogant, selfish egomaniacs who know a whole lot less then they think they know and who are a lot smaller then they see themselves.

    Such is President Barak Obama.

Hopefully it is not a question of if the media and the public will ever see Obama for who and what he is.

Hopefully it is a matter of when they see Obama for who and what he is and with that the further hope Obama’s true self will be seen before he does damage to America in his effort to enhance his own image and reputation.

They are not a small minority but a very large proportion of the muslim population worldwide.

George W. Bush went to the Islamic Center in Washington six days after the Sept. 11 attacks, when the fires of Ground Zero were still smoldering, to declare “Islam is peace,”

Well, president Bush was wrong on that count because islam means submission.

  5. Islam is about the sword. It is about subjugating the entire world to Islam. We make a mistake when we don’t take their religion seriously. They believe kaffirs and infidels have no right to exist. Nothing we do we will ever change the way they see us. We have three choices: we can die, we can submit or we can convert to Islam. Islam is not about freedom. Western leftists are useful idiots in that they don’t want to see them as the enemy of the Open Society, because they despise it too. But an alliance of convenience such as they have will only last so long. And no Muslim will never share their glory or power with those they regard as their inferiors. We can avert our eyes from the truth but it is there and none of us can say we didn’t know. We have plenty of advance warning to protect ourselves and our civilization.
