Getting to Know John McCain

Getting to Know John McCain, at today’s Wall Street Journal, is worth reading. While Barack Hussein Obama spent his youth involving himself in Black identity politics (if not outright Black Nationalist politics) as described in Dreams From My Father, this is what John McCain was doing. It is inconceivable that any American with any sense of decency would vote for the phony smile in the empty suit over the war hero who saved a comrade’s arm during their imprisonment by war criminals.

When he [Bud Day] was recaptured, a Vietnamese captor broke his arm and said, “I told you I would make you a cripple.” …the Vietnamese left part of a bone sticking out of his arm, and put him in a misshapen cast. This was done so that the arm would heal at “a goofy angle,” as Mr. Day explained. Had it done so, he never would have flown again.

But it didn’t heal that way because of John McCain. Risking severe punishment, Messrs. McCain and Day collected pieces of bamboo in the prison courtyard to use as a splint. Mr. McCain put Mr. Day on the floor of their cell and, using his foot, jerked the broken bone into place. Then, using strips from the bandage on his own wounded leg and the bamboo, he put Mr. Day’s splint in place. Years later, Air Force surgeons examined Mr. Day and complimented the treatment he’d gotten from his captors. Mr. Day corrected them. It was Dr. McCain who deserved the credit. Mr. Day went on to fly again.

Now for First Lady. Who would you rather have: Michelle Obama, who was never proud of her country until her husband ran for President, or Cindy McCain?

For example, in 1991 Cindy McCain was visiting Mother Teresa’s orphanage in Bangladesh when a dying infant was thrust into her hands. The orphanage could not provide the medical care needed to save her life, so Mrs. McCain brought the child home to America with her. She was met at the airport by her husband, who asked what all this was about.

Mrs. McCain replied that the child desperately needed surgery and years of rehabilitation. “I hope she can stay with us,” she told her husband. Mr. McCain agreed. Today that child is their teenage daughter Bridget.

The choice for First Couple should be a no-brainer, and anything less than an overwhelming landslide for McCain–on the order of what Ronald Reagan did to the terrorist-loving peanut farmer from Georgia in 1980–will reflect very badly on the judgment of the American people.

  1. A long-standing member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), John McCain will pursue the goals and ambitions of the globalists with a vengeance. As Pat Buchanan said recently, “John McCain will make Dick Cheney look like Gandhi.” Buchanan is right on with that prediction.

  2. Bill, I understand well the stark differences between John McCain and Barrack Obama. A President Obama could do significant damage to this country. I will vote or not vote on the basis of what I believe is best for Israel because what is good for Israel is also good for America. At this point, I believe like Bush, a President McCain will be a disaster for Israel and thus for America.

  3. Steve,

My perception is that Obama will sing “Kumbaya” with terrorists, including Osama. McCain will kill the terrorists. That’s good enough for me.

  4. Well put, Bill, I think in this age of Islamic terrorism Obama is suspect in his attitude. McCain may not be the best there is on the market but far and away better than Obama and Clinton.

  5. Sometimes I wonder what the race would be like if someone like Bill Richardson or Evan Bayh were the front-runners for the Democratic nomination.

  6. When election time arrives John Mccain has some serious vulnerabilities.

He is still associated with The Iraqi war crowd-a discredited group amongst the majority of the American electorate.

Over 71. with considerable health baggage.

Personal dishonesty which is known to Washington insiders but is yet to be disseminated widely to the public.

Founding Member of the Keating Five
Back in the old days, defendants in famous trials got numbers — the Chicago Eight, the Gang of Four, the Dave Clark Five, the Daytona 500. McCain was one of the “Keating Five,” congressmen investigated on ethics charges for strenuously helping convicted racketeer Charles Keating after he gave them large campaign contributions and vacation trips.
Charles Keating was convicted of racketeering and fraud in both state and federal court after his Lincoln Savings & Loan collapsed, costing the taxpayers $3.4 billion. His convictions were overturned on technicalities; for example, the federal conviction was overturned because jurors had heard about his state conviction, and his state charges because Judge Lance Ito (yes, that judge) screwed up jury instructions. Neither court cleared him, and he faces new trials in both courts.)

Though he was not convicted of anything, McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating after Keating gave McCain at least $112,00 in contributions. In the mid-1980s, McCain made at least 9 trips on Keating’s airplanes, and 3 of those were to Keating’s luxurious retreat in the Bahamas. McCain’s wife and father-in-law also were the largest investors (at $350,000) in a Keating shopping center; the Phoenix New Times called it a “sweetheart deal.”

    Mafia ties:
In 1995, McCain sent birthday regards, and regrets for not attending, to Joseph “Joe Bananas” Bonano, the head of the New York Bonano crime family, who had retired to Arizona. Another politician to send regrets was Governor Fife Symington, who has since been kicked out of office and convicted of 7 felonies relating to fraud and extortion.

    Family Problems
McCain has a reputation as a politician who has difficulty keeping his pants zipped, according to Republican sources. He acknowledges that his adultery broke up his first marriage. His second wife Cindy, the daughter of a wealthy Budweiser beer distributor, was addicted to prescription narcotics and even stole hard drugs from a medical charity that she ran. McCain acknowledges that she didn’t want him to run, and only agreed once he promised that she doesn’t have to go to New Hampshire or Iowa.
