Participate: Lending Israel an economic hand
Participate: Lending Israel an economic hand
This piece is a follow-up on
Tamar's post, "Pushing the Blue & White". The last paragraphs of this piece outline what you can do in the context of our "Shop Israel" drive.
Helping Israel's economy is of great importance for obvious reasons. Unlike Israel's security situation, about which we can do little from abroad, we can do quite a bit on the economic side. Two areas in particular come to mind.
The first is the domain of entrepreneurs who can establish business links with Israel, whether on a large scale (as Intel has done) or on a small scale.
The second is the everyday promotion of Israel products by seeking them out, purchasing them, and requesting them at local wholesale/retail outlets.
So far, IsraPundit has done as follows. We have been running a series of "buy Israel links" at the top of our left-hand column; and we have installed two buttons at the bottom of our right-hand column. Most of our links pertain to the "shop Israel" category, but the "Lend a Hand" button and link, as well as some others, are designed to serve entrepreneurs who are interested in business links. Clearly, what we have done so far is precious little.
We have started to receive input from readers, in response to the article Tamar posted. For example, a reader wishing to remain anonymous, writes:
Shoppers Drug Mart or Wal-Mart carry replacement blades for razors called Precision Plus or the Shoppers brand. They are imported by National Home Products in Downsview , Ontario, and the package says they are made in Israel. This is a product men use all the time and is competitively priced. I didn't realize they were made in Israel until I took a closer look at the product info on the back of the package.
We need more info, tips, ideas, links and strategies - big or small - for our drive. This is where our readers come in: as Tamar stated, we need your help. If you have any thought that can contribute towards the "Shop Israel" pages we are planning, please send them along to me, at
