If you check the term "Christian Zionists" using our search engine (center of right-hand column), you will find well over 20 relevant articles. Indeed, I find the support given Israel by Christian Zionists to be heartwarming and inspiring.
Below, I call attention to two relevant pieces: (i) a letter concerning Barghouti, sent by Jan Willem van der Hoeven, the director of the International Christian Zionist Center; and (ii) a recent article in Ma'ariv concerning the attachment Christian Zionists feel for Israel.
1. To read van der Hoeven's e-mail (unavailable on the web), click here. The key paragraph, in view of the rumours about Barghouti:
Will Israel's government this time prove to be wiser and less destructive as when she released Arafat first from Beirut, then from Tunisia, building him up as a world respected leader and peace partner to her own fateful detriment and sorrow?
2. The Ma'ariv article alluded to may be found at this link. The article, by Hagai Segal, bears the sub-heading:
The secular left wing believes the bond between Christian evangelicals in the US and the settlers is odd. In fact, there is nothing odd about it.

The subject cannot be more critical and needs wider and deeper discussion. Unfortunatly, the ending here is quite a letdown in view of the expactation created. I think, incidentally, that the piece by Weber posted later here might add some good oil to the much needed fire. ( And what would you think may be made of the the triangularisation with resurgent, savage Islam?).
