al-Ha'aretz reports:

PM nixes Russian proposal that Israel make goodwill gestures

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom rejected Tuesday a proposal by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Israel dismantle West Bank outposts and release "political prisoners" as a goodwill gesture to the new Palestinian leadership.
The continuation of the report should have been:

Furthermore, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom suggested Tuesday to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Russia dismantle its outposts on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, and return them to Japan, and also that Russia release Chechen "political prisoners" as a goodwill gesture to the Chechens.
Well, if Sharon and Shalom have problems answering back, I, for one, have no such problems.

Yes Answering back is LONG OVERDUE!
Now israel will get more of same from Jack Straw.
How about - we are also concerned about the release of the Beslan islamic fighters, which would show goodwill towards the islamist resistance of Basayev.
