Dramatic events unfolding.CommentsOf course, all this is only the visible section of the iceburg (iceberg?). Even a scenerio where ALL of Yesha, Gamla, and major parts of Jerusalem are relinquished, the existential threat to Israel is still present. The political institutions staffed and controlled by the Labor Zionists can only yield a future disestablishment of Israel proper. Israel should review how Singapore survived hostile Islamic confrontation states. An election is needed but only useful if Jewish Statesmanship is present to fill the void. Kol tuv, Posted by: BobW
Our leviathan PM never learns does he? Like most of us (Israelis at least), Bulldozer Arik cannot discern between the charade and the reality of U.S. Presidencies. Remember LBJ picking up his hound-dog by the ears?? Can you recall the [muted] outrage when it was revealed that the Clinton dogs (and cat) were merely "photo-props" to boost the image of a dysfunctional Arkansas political dynasty? American presidents don't have the time (or perhaps "Humanity"?) or inclination to keep "pets" for very long.....especially whining, submissive, obese, poodles in far off lands. Arik Sharon is Bush's poodle, a weak, nervous breed that can be trusted to soil the fine carpets in the White House if given the opportunity. Our Poet/Songwriter Shalom Hanoch wrote a song called "Ella" 20 years ago. The song warned against trusting the American leadership. Shalom was correct, and Poodle Arik should have paid attention. DEBKAfile reports onSudden Discord between Bush and Sharon
According to this report all bets and assurances are off.
Rueven Koret of IsraelInsider asks Is Ariel Sharon about to be "stung"?
Judging from what is happening and what is being said of late, Israel has much to be alarmed about. Sharon is fast loosing control of his Disengagement Plan. All the benefits from it are fast disappearing. Regardless of his initiatives it appears that the powers that be including the US are taking charge.
Time to call an election. We must slow down the disengagement rather then speed it up. Wemust let the dust settle before we make irreversible moves based on false assurances.
