Guten Morgen Friends, That sign, which translates as "Work will make you Free" is also the basis for the degeneration of Israeli society. In the early 1950's, as the influx of sabonim (Survivors of the Shoah) arrived upon our shores.........our Socialist leadership quickly adapted the vernacular of the [German] enemy to neutralise the effects of the survivors on our nascent society. Europeans, especially those from the West, were deemed as a threat to our Socialist utopia. As we remeber the Wannasee Conference....let's not forget those who exploited it...and the effects of their decisions on Israeli society. [The most popular word in the Israeli lexicon is "Freir"..."Sucker"....a word derived from the famous photos of the entry-gate at Aushwitz. Shame on us,,,,and shame on those who taught us to welcome the survivors of the Shoah by labeling them as "Sabonim"....or "Bars of Soap". "Frier, "Sabonim", and "Chaltura"....three words that paralysed a nation. Posted by: Tamar on December 9, 2004 12:39 AM
Tamar, I am literally stunned. I grew up in Israel, hearing those words used casually all the time. They always had a distasteful feeling for me, so I didn't use them; but I had no clue as to their true origins. It shocks me. (But it follows on to the revelations in "The Jewish State" by Yoram Hazoni. That REALLY explained to me things I'd never understood.) You didn't elucidate "chalturah," which is of course used to mean, "a phony task, a sinecure." Would you, please? Joel Posted by: Joel Orr on December 11, 2004 05:56 PM
A good idea in the blog burst is to have each blog link to some common page and then the google page rank of that page will be increased and it'll get top on daypop for a day or so, creating more exposure. Posted by: Mike on December 20, 2004 01:58 PM Post a comment |

Repost
Following the first BlogBurst of November 29, 2004, we are now in the process of organizing a second Burst for January, 2005.
The date for the BlogBurst is January 27, 2005, and the subject is:
Remembering the Wannsee Conference and the Liberation of Auschwitz
January 27, 2005, marks the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in 1945. On January 20th, we marked the anniversary of the 1942 Wannsee Conference. In the course of that Conference, the Nazis formalized the Nazi plan to annihilate the Jewish people. Understanding the horrors of Auschwitz requires that one be aware of the premeditated mass-murder presented at Wannsee.
This announcement is aimed primarily at webmasters: if you wish to join, and if you have not contacted me already, please contact me at IsraPundit@yahoo.com.
83 websites, including LGF, joined the first BlogBurst (at least, I know of that number, but there may be more). We would like to surpass this number for January: we currently have 77 participants. You can see posts concerning the November BlogBurst here and here. The list of the January participants is shown at BlogBurst Info.
