1. "Civil Disobedience Begins", says Arutz 7:
The "civil disobedience" campaign against the transfer/expulsion plan has begun. Shomron residents waged a sit-in on a road near Shavei Shomron, blocking a Disengagement Authority bus on its way.
Three residents of Shomron communities were arrested this afternoon as they, encouraged by more than 50 supporters, sat on the road to block a convoy of Disengagement Authority officials traveling near Shavei Shomron and Homesh. Among those reported to have been taken into custody is Kedumim Mayor and long-time Yesha activist Daniella Weiss.
Sometimes overlooked by the planned expulsion of nearly 8,000 residents in Gush Katif, the 500 residents of four northern Samaria communities are also on the chopping block. The move will leave practically the entire northern Shomron in Arab hands, and place areas such as Netanya, Hadera, Afula and others under the same threats they faced before the Six Day War.
The de facto PLO organ, al-Ha'aretz, devoted to this item one line in the Flash News section:
"18:12 Police arrest 6 settlers who tried to prevent disengagement authority bus from entering settlement of Sa Nur".
On the other hand, today's de facto PLO rag-sheet should be commended for not publishing any incitement article against the Yesha pioneers - at least I could not find such an article today. Quite the contrary: an article entitled, "The settlers are the true opposition" may be deemed fair (for al-Ha'aretz).
2. A minor achievement, but an achievement anyway
Arutz 7 reports:
In a surprise defeat for the Sharon government, the Knesset Law Committee did not approve the Expulsion/Compensation bill. Anti-withdrawal MKs warned against exaggerating the defeat's importance.
The Tuesday morning vote on the revamped version of the bill, as formulated by the committee members over the past several weeks, ended in an 8-8 tie, with Arab MK Azmi Bishara abstaining.
Committee member MK Benny Elon explained to Arutz-7 that the Finance Committee must still approve or amend the bill's 140 clauses, "and it has barely begun work on this... Every delay works in our favor - but its importance should not be exaggerated." Elon emphasized that the uprooting of Jewish communities cannot be implemented without Knesset approval, though at least one analyst debated this point.
3. In her weekly JPost column, Caroline Glick sheds more light on the disastrous consequences of General Sharon's expulsion and resettlement plan. She writes, inter alia:
Maj.-Gen. (res.) Ya'acov Amidror, the former head of the IDF War Colleges and Military Intelligence analysis division, warned last week that in the absence of an Israeli military presence in Gaza, the area will become a focal point for global jihad. Just this week, the Shin Bet announced the arrest of Jordanian national Muhammad Abu Juyad in Tulkarm this past August. Abu Juyad was recruited by Fatah and Hizbullah. He received terror training twice in Syria and also took part in the terror war against American forces in Iraq before turning up here with a plan to recruit Israeli Arabs to blow up trains, kidnap soldiers and attack Israeli facilities in Jordan. Abu Juyad is emblematic of the global and regional face of the war. Luckily our forces are deployed in Judea and Samaria. If he or one of the thousands of terrorists like him were to come to Gaza after Sharon's proposed withdrawal goes through, who would arrest him?
4. More surrender to come, reports Arutz 7:
I n an appearance before the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday, the Prime Minister said that Israel would not withdraw from areas in Judea and Samaria if terrorism does not stop. The implication was clear: additional withdrawals and expulsions are on the agenda as soon as Palestinian terrorism ceases.
Note: "Resistance News" is a daily column devoted to news about the Jewish resistance to Sharon's expulsion and resettlement plan. Let it not be said that IsraPundit observed the ethnic-cleansing of Jews in Yesha and reacted with indifference.

Subj: "also on the chopping block"
I read that Efrat is also on the chopping block.
Does anyone think only 4 communities in Judia-Samaria are at risk?
Watch Gamla return to the news. Recall Gilo.
