Action call from Harvest Belt (Gush Katif)

On Tu B'Shvat This Year We Plant
and Deepen Our Roots in Gush Katif

A year ago, just before Tu B’Shvat of 2004, the Prime Minister announced his plan to expel the settlements of Gush Katif. From that day on the inhabitants of Gush Katif are doing their best to fulfill the verse “Enlarge the place of your tent” (Isaiah 54:2), in order to demonstrate to the people of Israel just how determined the people of Gush Katif are to remain there forever.

This year we would like to make you a part of our effort, by giving you an opportunity to buy your Tu B’Shvat seedlings from the Gush Katif tree nurseries and to plant them in the villages and IDF army bases in the area.

How can you also plant and deepen your roots in Gush Katif?

You can deepen your roots in Gush Katif in just four easy steps:

1. Chose your seedlings
2. Choose a location for planting (a settlement in Gush Katif or an 3. IDF base in the area)
4. Mark the number of seedlings you want
5. Make the purchase and mark the method of payment

RE: Naivety / Misallocation of Resources

Isaiah 54:2 cannot be exercised until and unless Proverbs 10:14 is complied with; "..victory comes with much planning."

Once I nearly became a settler at Ophira. More than seedlings were forfeited to Egypt when closed down.

I have a hunch Israel is being positioned to form a condominium with the new state of Palestine, a "lazy 'H' territorial configuration", and Jordan. Is it realistic to send money for seedlings? I receive numerous letters seeking funds for various projects. Emergency medical supplies is a frequent subject.

Seedlings remind me of a recent letter from Volunteers For Israel ("Sar-El"). They request funds because there are less participants with rising expenses. One reason there are less participants can be gleaned from an expression I coined re Sar-El;
"The North Carolina National Guard has less uncircumscised than Sar-El".

When programs involve naivety, they will fail.

Gaza District is an important issue but addressing Gaza alone is not stopping the overall infection.
