In another step forward in relations, a senior Israeli official said Israel has decided to resume diplomatic contacts with the Palestinians after cutting them off for almost two weeks over a bombing in the Gaza Strip
Meanwhile, other Israeli officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Israel has informed the Palestinians of their decision to stop targeting militants for death. It came after generals from the two sides met Tuesday to plan deployment of Palestinian police in central and southern Gaza, to prevent militants from attacking Israelis.

Okay, let's see... Palestinian Arabs blow up a vehicle killing a civilian father of five, open fire on an Israeli car killing one Israeli soldier and wounding three others, send multiple splodeydopes to an Israel/Gaza checkpoint killing five Israelis, send another murder/suicide bomber to Gush Katif who kills one Israeli, and the deadly rain of rockets and mortars continues to fall on Israeli neighborhoods in and around Gaza. All this—in addition to the many attacks that the IDF and Israeli security have thwarted—since Arafat II was officially sworn in as the leader of this geopolitical madhouse two weeks ago.
