MSM=Cheerleaders for Terror

Whoever wins the chance to rehabilitate Israel's image in the media on the Israeli reality show, The Ambassador, certainly has their work cut out for them.

In an AFP piece today we read:

GAZA CITY (AFP) - Radical Islamist groups said they had narrowed their differences with Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas over his calls for a ceasefire but insisted Israel must reciprocate.

Hurray! Maybe that genocidal stuff about destroying the Jewish state and pushing the Jews into the Mediterranean was just metaphorical rhetoric! It looks like the Palestinian Arabs and their Islamothug spokesmen really are ready for peace. Uh-oh, better watch out for mean ol' Mr. Israel, though, as we learn in the next sentence from this terrorist-hugging AFP story:

And in the West Bank, Israeli bulldozers resumed construction of a controversial section of the vast separation barrier deep inside Palestinian territory.

Those wicked Zionists... insisting that the blood of their citizens is worth more than the temporary inconvenience of an immigrant people. Here's a hint to Palestinian Arabs: make the attacks stop, and then there won't be a need for a barrier. Oh yeah, that would be one less thing to whine about as per the culture of victimhood/death. Nevermind.

Moving on to an al-Reuters story:

"It is clear that there is calm on the ground as part of a Palestinian initiative," said Ziad Abu Amr, a Palestinian Authority negotiator with militant groups in Gaza.

"This calm can be a preamble to a truce if Israel agrees to the Palestinian conditions," he told Reuters.

Palestinian demands on Israel include a halt to attacks on militants and release of Palestinian prisoners in its jails.

You get the picture. Many of the big media outlets and wire services have been singing the praises of the new kinder, gentler Palestinian Arab terrorist, while pointing at Israeli intransigence because Israel won't back down from protecting its citizens and refuses to reward hateful killers with diplomatic recognition.

Well, the attacks on Israeli civilians have continued, notwithstanding the dishonest media reporting. And who's leading the way? Why, it's the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade! You know, from the Fatah party of moderate Palestinian Arab partner for peace™, Mahmoud Abbas. At least UPI is more honest in its coverage:

Gaza, Gaza, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Despite talk of a cease-fire agreement, Palestinian militants Monday resumed firing homemade mortar shells at Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas had reportedly reached an agreement with militant groups to stop attacks until Israel weighed in a cease-fire proposal.

But, one of the Fatah movement's armed wings, Ahmed Abu al-Reesh, claimed responsibility for attacking the settlement of Atsmona, west the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis Monday. There were no injuries.

The group said its militants fired three homemade rockets at the settlement.

The same group also claimed responsibility for launching two rockets at the Atsmona settlement Sunday evening. There were no injuries in that attack, either.

It's a lie—a trick from the Zionist-controlled American media!

A Jewish Israel press release could read:

"Israel's policy position is that the Church of the Nativity should be the main feature of Bethelehem. The Government of Israel does not believe a mosque should dominate Manger Square."

The problem is not AFP. AFP is only a minor manifestation of the problem. The problem is that Israel lacks a modern, parliamentary government where citizens of Israel vote for political district accountable representatives.

The only example of this working seems to be the Italy of early Mussolini. Right after the Lateran Treaties of 1929, Italy was a theocratical state in which all of the rules of the Catholic Church were upheld without infringing on the rights of all the citizens. Actually, until Mussolini's puppet government in northern Italy in 1943, Mussolini's Italy was very much a haven for all those sought by the Germans.
However, I don't think that Mussolini should be the basis for the Israeli government.
Now, it is possible I am misinterpreting what you say, but I think that if Israel has district representatives and remains a 'free democracy' for all, we will face with Hebron's representative being a Muslim expatriate.
What I am driving at, is that for Israel to remain its single self - a Jewish State - it cannot open the doors to anti-Jewish politics, something that will undoubtable happen if there will political representation on a much lower than national level. Right now, no Arab-Israeli group can gather enough votes to overthrow Israel's Jewish majority, but on a smaller level they have a much stronger chance, and that is a problem.
