This just in: Sharon barely makes it
JPost reports:
The Knesset on Monday evening approved the creation of a new unity government by a very close 58-56 vote, with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon receiving support from the Arab factions and the left-wing party Yahad.
...
Thirteen Likud rebels voted against the new government. Shinui, which left the government, voted against the new unity government, as did the National Religious Party and Shas.
...
After the rebels' meeting, MK Ayoub Kara, said, "I wander what [Likud visionary] Ze'ev Jabotinsky would think if told that a Likud government was being supported by Meretz (Yahad) and the Arabs."

Oh well. I guess kudos are due to Yossi Sarid, who unlike the MK's in his party held by his principles and refused his support.
Ain't this just swell though. Borders of the State hanging on the votes of two MK's, who in turn hold their Knesset positions due their own parties' politics, and certainly not by virtue of being voted in directly, by any Israelis/Jews.
I toy with making Aliya, and opening a bagel factory, but then I realize that there are no holes available in Israel, so surely it just wouldn't work.
