Remember the "Broken Pledges Folder"?

Remember the "Broken Pledges Folder"?

On Mar 2, less than a week ago, I posted a piece that quoted this pledge:

"Israel once again emphasizes that there will be no progress in the diplomatic process under the road map until the Palestinian Authority acts resolutely against terrorism and dismantles [the terror] infrastructure," Sharon's bureau said. "Israel also demands that the Palestinians carry out political reforms."

Having examined the moral fiber of Israel's leaders, I had no hesitation in calling the piece, "Keep this in your "Broken pledges" folder".

Alas, today comes more evidence that you can always count on Israel's leaders to prove themselves spineless.

On Mar 6, 2004, JPost reported:

Mofaz and Abbas to meet this week to talk peace

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz will meet with Palestinian Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in the coming days.

The goal of their meeting is to revive the stagnant peace process.

Mofaz intends to demand that the Palestinian Authority fight terror.

The two will also discuss cooperation between their security forces and the transfer of security responsibility in Palestinian cities.

The murderers of the latest Tel Aviv terrorist act have not been brought to justice, and nor have the terrorists who murdered the three US officials on October 15, 2003. Neither has Arafat II, Arafat in a suit, done anything to clamp down on his terrorists. But the GOI has already broken its pledge, and is, indeed, "talking peace" with the Holocaust denier. What is this but national suicide by another name?
