2. Discouraging the troops
An op/ed piece in today's JPost, written by the former Israeli consul-general in New York, advises that:
Polls in both Israel and among American Jews consistently indicate that a large majority supports disengagement, welcomes future negotiations, and is resigned to the idea of a Palestinian state being established at some point. Likewise, a sizable majority fully understands that a final status agreement along the July 2000 Clinton-Barak Camp David contours would require dismantling many settlements in Judea and Samaria, relinquishing about 90% of the West Bank.
Are these facts or merely attemps to demoralize the expulsion opponenets? If these are indeed facts - why the GOI opposition to a referendum?
3. An interesting thought!
JPost carries today an interesting article by SHMULEY BOTEACH, entiled, "Ulysses S. Sharon". He writes:
It is the misfortune of the Israeli people to have a former general in the twilight of his career who, like so many warriors who preceded him, wishes to end his days as a peacemaker. When I hosted Sharon at Oxford University in 1992, I remember the hundreds of students with placards calling him a murderer for Sabra and Shatilla. Don't think Sharon has forgotten these things. This is his last chance to prove he was a man of peace all along.
Could it be that this is the key to Sharon's national suicide plan?
4. The Right Academe
Academe has been associated all too often with the Chomsky's of this world to the extent that one may forget about the Right Academe. Today, however, Katif.net posted a press release by Professors for a Strong Israel:
Money for Medicines, NOT for transfer!
Professors for a Strong Israel - Statement to the Press
The government of the Left, the government of transfer - Sharon's government - refuses to finance life-saving prescription drugs, even as it allocates billions (!) to the expulsion of Jews from their homes.
* Professors for a Strong Israel demands cuts in the budgets of the Defense, Internal Security, and Justice Ministries, cuts equal to the amounts to be spent in illegitimate activity against the citizens of Israel. These billions should be turned to positive and humane purposes.

5. Does this show faith, or what?
Also on Katif.Net, a piece about one of the people who moved recently to the Gaza Strip:
JEWS CONTINUE TO MOVE TO GAZA
One of the over 600 Jews to move to Gush Katif in recent months is 63-year-old Pesach Aceman, originally of Vancouver, Canada...
6. Ha'aretz gives us this day our daily incitement
On Uzi Benziman writes in The Ragsheet:
The settlers are rebelling against the rule of law and the authority of the state. As if that were not enough, when the law catches up with them, they act as if they are the ones who have been wronged.
Note: "Resistance News" is a daily column devoted to news about the Jewish resistance to Sharon's expulsion and resettlement plan. Let it not be said that IsraPundit observed the ethnic-cleansing of Jews in Yesha and reacted with indifference.

See note at article's end.
1. All the resistance news you wanted
Today, Arutz 7 carries a basket full of items relevant to the Resistance, not all of them too encouraging. The material includes:
Marathon Mass Protest at the Knesset Tomorrow
Shinui Says Yes to Budget; Disengagement Comes Closer
Provocateurs in the Ranks
Disengagement Costs Soar 40 Percent
This is an opportunity to remind one and all to post comments at Arutz 7: we should go out of our way to encourage the Yesha patriots. See, for example, my comment (#10) to this news story.
