Palestinian teen caught smuggling pipe bombs
A 17-year-old Palestinian was caught attempting to smuggle four pipe bombs at the Beit Furit checkpoint outside of Nablus Friday afternoon.
A military policewoman manning the position stopped the teen for inspection and asked to check the bag he was carrying. At first he refused, but the policewoman later checked inside and discovered the pipe bombs.
He was detained for questioning, and the bombs were blown up by sappers.
Security officials said that it is the eighth attempt by Palestinians to smuggle bombs and weapons out of Nablus in recent weeks.
Earlier the IDF revealed the arrests of Jailed Raous an Islamic Jihad fugitive at a checkpoint near Dir Kadif, northwest of Ramallah. He planned to launch a suicide bomb attack and was involved in shooting attacks in the past.

Bullets found in videotape at Hawara checkpoint
At the Hawara checkpoint outside of Nablus, soldiers thwarted an attempt by Palestinians to smuggle 20 bullets hidden in a videotape from Nalbus Friday morning.
Earlier a mortar shell was fired at an IDF post in southern Gaza. No one was wounded and no damage was reported.
In the West Bank shots were fired at soldiers deployed Balata refugee camp near Nablus. And in Dahariya, southwest of Hebron security forces arrested four Islamic Jihad fugitives.

Al-Aksa fugitives escape IDF in Balata camp
The fugitives, from the Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigade manage to escape after an exchange of fire, Israel Radio reported.
According to reports, the two were armed and it was they who opened fire on the soldiers.
One of the fugitives was wounded. No injuries of soldiers reported.

Terrorist in Custody – Suicide Bombing Attack Prevented
Authorities today are permitting the publication of yesterday’s arrest of Jilad Douman at an impromptu checkpoint near Dir Kadis northwest of Ramallah. Douman, affiliated with Islamic Jihad, had volunteered to carry out a suicide bombing attack.
Authorities report he is believed to have been involved in Ramallah area shooting attacks. He is currently in Shin Bet custody.
