Resistance News, 2005_04_25

See note at article's end.

The orange backgroud symbolizes my personal solidarity with the Jewish pioneers of Yesha.

1. Resistance activities galore

Arutz 7 has posted today an itemized list of activities in support of the Jewish pioneers in Yesha. The first item reads:

The People and the Land: Passover Events

Though the major Gush Katif Passover event is not scheduled until Wednesday, thousands have already begun arriving in the area, combining solidarity, love for the Land, and quality vacation time.

2. GOI at war with its youth

From Arutz7:

Filling the Jails With Protestors Some 250 people demonstrated outside the new "Disengagement Wing" of the Maasiyahu Prison in Ramle last night. Their rallying cry: "We, too, are prepared to be arrested."

Currently incarcerated in the new wing, which was established specifically for those accused of anti-disengagement protests, are three youths who were arrested over two weeks ago for blocking the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv.

The three have refused to sign orders agreeing to house arrest, and the courts are showing no signs of planning to release them. Neither are the three showing signs of planning to give in.

"My son feels that the only way to fight this battle," the father of one of them told Arutz-7, "is to show them that we're not afraid to get arrested in the course of our fight for the Land of Israel, and to fill the jails. They won't know how to handle this. And it's working; last week, there were about 30 people who came to rally, and last night there were 250 -and after the police arrested about 30 of them, only two of them were left in jail by this morning, and everyone else was released." ...

Speakers at last night's rally said, "This is a clear message to all those sitting in the 'disengagement wing' in Maasiyahu. We will follow your example! Prison won't scare us, and we say to the authorities: We too are ready to be arrested!"

3. A new Ressitance front

Arutz 7 reports:

High Court Petition: Northern Gaza Towns Inside '67 Lines

Residents of two northern Gaza towns, Elei Sinai and Nisanit, have filed a petition with the High Court of Justice against the current government plan to uproot them from their homes. The claim made by the petitioners is that their towns are located in territory that was within the 1948 armistice lines (the Green Line); therefore, they argue, the plan to uproot towns built in lands captured in 1967 cannot apply to them.

The petition includes maps from before the 1967 Six Day War that, so the petitioners claim, clearly show that the lands upon which their towns are built are part of pre-'67 sovereign Israel. That being the case, it is argued, there is no justification to uproot them and give their towns to Arabs conquered in 1967.

If you depend on MSM for news, you'd never know about any of the facts listed above. It is no surprise that The Ragsheet (al-Ha'aretz) conceals such facts, but you'd expect JPost to act differently!

Note: "Resistance News" is a daily column devoted to news about the Jewish resistance to Sharon's expulsion and resettlement plan. Let it not be said that IsraPundit observed the ethnic-cleansing of Jews in Yesha and reacted with indifference.
