Central Park Rally Against Disengagement

Organizers call the June 5 Central Park rally against disengagement a “rain or shine event” urging the public to attend. The rally is conveniently timed to following the annual New York City Salute to Israel Parade, to facilitate participation. The Gush Katif/Shomron solidarity event will be held between 2:30pm and 6:00pm. Tens of thousands of participants are expected.

The rally will be held at 97th Street and 5th Avenue and will include prominent speakers, such as MKs Effie Eitam and Dr. Uzi Landau as well as local public officials.

Additionally, the program will be dedicated to the Jewish communities located in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, the more than 1,300 people who have been killed since the signing of the Oslo "peace" accords on September 13, 1993, the more than 700 murdered since the outbreak of the Oslo War against Israel which began on September 28, 2000, and the 57th Anniversary of The State of Israel.

"As New Yorkers, we feel the need to stand up and let the world know on the 57th year of the anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel that we will not sit silent as the expulsion of Jews from any part of Israel is imminent. We will gather to rejoice at Israel's independence and to remember that Prime Minister Sharon himself spoke to this same group in Central Park a few years ago, and today his actions pose a grave danger to Israel," said Dr. Joseph Frager, organizer of The Israel Concert in the Park. "We will not sit silent, and expect tens of thousands to join us to publicly say 'No to expulsion and yes to Jews in Gaza.'"
