ADL: "British Association of University Teachers Rescinds Israel Boycott!"Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry: Comments
Actually, it doesn't seem like good news to me. The fact that this "boycott" was ever put into place at all suggests that there is an underlying problem of larger dimensions than even typical paranoid "Zionazis" like myself generally say. "Good news" would be that there was widespread outrage (REAL outrage, the type that results in CHANGE, not in half-assed apologies followed by the status quo) against these evil people. It would be good news to hear that all of these hateful, self-aggrandizing schmucks were ejected in toto from the academic community. However, the truth is that these Jew-hating slime were brought up short by public criticism - NOT by re-evaluation of their sick and poorly-informed viewpoint. The fundamental desire to demonize Israel that they so shamefully brought before the public as the position of the academic community still burns in their black hearts, awaiting only a new opportunity, or more fertile social ground. . . History tells us where this leads. "Good news"? That would be to hear of the Jewish community in the UK making mass aliyah! Sorry, off point, I guess I'm just cranky about the new virulent betrayal of Israel by the United States, joyously funded with my very own tax dollars. HaShem guard us; our leadership sure won't.
