Remembrance

At the entrance to the Auschwitz death camp in Poland is a sign that reads "Work makes you free." A million and a half people, mostly Jews, read that sign as they entered Auschwitz, and eventually died in the gas chambers there and at nearby Birkenau. Today people of good will across the world are observing a day of remembrance for the Holocaust. But not everyone "remembers." Nazi-like hatred of Jews infects much of radical Islam. Anti-Semitic attacks have skyrocketed across Western Europe. And even at the United Nations and in the European Union, diplomats condemn Israel repeatedly for simply defending itself against terrorism. The evil that led to the Holocaust still lives. Now, more than ever, Christians and Jews must stand together against it.

Hospital Terror?

Federal authorities are mystified by an unusual series of incidents at U.S. hospitals that could indicate the facilities are under reconnaissance by Al Qaeda. Hospitals in four states have reported that individuals, appearing to be of Middle Eastern descent, have entered their facilities masquerading as doctors. They ask questions about bed capacity, emergency services and often request a private tour of the facilities. When asked for credentials, they leave. The Department of Homeland Security has issued a special bulletin to U.S. hospitals to be on guard. Once again, we are reminded that our enemy is still working feverishly to bring more sorrows to our nation.
