A Democratic Hamas?

A Democratic Hamas?

Asaf Romirowsky questions the Bush Administration's delusions about a democratic Hamas:

... Today, we are facing the possibility that Hamas will become a legitimate player within the Palestinian Authority (PA) despite the fact that since 2000, Hamas has been responsible for over 425 terrorist attacks. In the upcoming general elections scheduled for July, Hamas will be in position to gain between 35 to 40 percent of the 132 seats in the Palestinian Legislative Council. The Palestinian man on the street sees no problem with Hamas' role or policies; the opposite is true as Ahmad Khadoura says, "I don't think they [Hamas] will return to armed struggle. But if there is a need, why not? If it is necessary." Moreover, the voices that are coming out of the Arab academia would you like us to accept Hamas and Hezbollah as legitimate political expressions even if they are armed. As Emad Gad, a political scientist at Cairo's Al Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, stated, "engagement with Hamas and Hezbollah is important, but it's complicated and difficult because they're still armed." ...

It appears to me that the Bush Administration's delusions about a democratic Hamas have much in common with its delusions about a democratic PLO. The PLO has also been responsible for over 425 terrorist attacks since it allied with the islamists during the Camp David negotiations five years ago.

Hamas is a social welfare contractor which provides education, warm meals and medical assistance; thus, it is so appealing. In fact it is just as appealing as was the NSDAP, and for exactly the same reasons.

I think its time to re-read the books of Yossef Bodansky on these matters.

Apologists said the same thing about the Vice Lords here in the states. They ate up lives and destroyed futures even of their very own while dressing up once in a while as Santa Clause or playing Robin Hood to their victims. Keep in mind the Vice Lords reign of terror was nothing compared to Hamas or Hezbollah yet their victims both alive and dead
fell beneath the spell of their so-called humanitarian endeavors. Society is still payiing as a matter of fact.

Hamas and Hezbollah are vicious killers. Their strike is worse than a million vipers put together. Once we begin to negotiate with them our world as we know it will be handed over to those who want nothing more than to destroy the planet. And while Bush thinks negotiating with them will calm the STREET, when our streets all across the world become ingulfed in flames it will lie on the shoulders of Bush.

We have a president here who talks out of both sides of his mouth. He truly is a wolf in sheep's clothing who because of the Iraq war and trying to appease the world for it is dead set upon sacrificing Jews AT ANY COST.

This is the war on terror and for him to begin to negotiate with terrorists speaks loudly as to how he feels about Jews and the kind of person he is. I can not urge conservative Republicans enough to rise up and rebel. Otherwise, their silence will kill as well.
