What is the Annual Advocacy Mission about?

* Each year, the Zionist Organization of America leads a lobbying Mission to Capitol Hill. Mission participants attend private meetings with members of Congress, government officials, and community leaders. The ZOA Mission will allow you to visit Congressional offices and to advocate pro-Israel legislation that the ZOA members advocate on Capitol Hill.

When is the Advocacy Mission?

* The Mission is being held on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 21st and 22nd, 2005. Buses will be leaving from Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday, June 21st in the morning, at 9:00 a.m. To reserve your spot on the bus, call the ZOA.

Why should you join the Advocacy Mission?

* The Advocacy Mission is a unique opportunity for students from across the country who care about Israel and want to make their voices heard by policy makers to be briefed by high-ranking government officials and to meet other students and ZOA members who support Israel.

* The ZOA Advocacy Mission also offers an opportunity for student leaders to network with other pro-Israel students from campuses all over the US.

How do you register?

How much does it cost?

* The special student rate is $50.00 for the first fifty students to sign up. This includes lunch, a formal dinner, and a continental breakfast. It does not include the hotel cost. The regular student price is $99.00 per person.

What hotel should I stay in?

Is there a remote possibility that the annual ZOA lobbying mission to Capitol Hill does not work?

I do not believe ZOA participants attend meetings with the key people.

There is a term used in political circles (except maybe Jewish Israel factions) known by its initials: "R.O.I." - return on investment. The cost of a formal dinner, lunch, continental breakfast, hotel room, bus fare and conference fee produces less than staying home and sending US$100.00 as a political contribution to someone. Students can network with other students without leaving home.

Is there a remote possibility that funds for this holiday can be better spent?

The ZOA is one of the only "Pro-Israel" factions that is actually "pro-Īsrael". They are however, historically and politically linked to the Likud party. That being said, it sounds like a nice field-trip for the students.

All cash donations to Israel go directly into the pockets of a handful of crooks. Such "donations" have allowed the Sharons and Peres' to operate as mob-bosses.

Buy Israeli wine, chocolate, etc. DO NOT SEND MONEY!
