Tal Yam Set Up on Gaza Beach
A new outpost, Tal Yam (Dew of the Sea), was set up last night on the Gaza beach near Neveh Dekalim in Gush Katif.
The outpost was established on the ruins of 11 beachfront cottages that were destroyed yesterday by the IDF, in an operation designed to prevent Jews from moving into the homes.
Residents hoisted an Israeli flag onto the rubble and began rebuilding the cottages, which had been set up in 1967.

Rebels start new effort to oust Sharon
The Likud rebels began a new effort to oust Prime Minister Ariel Sharon from the leadership of the Likud party with a rally at Tel Aviv's Ramat Aviv Hotel on Monday.
The rebels called upon Likud central committee members to sign a petition to convene the group to approve moving up the next Likud leadership race. They will also work on pressuring Likud ministers to leave the government and bring thousands of hawks, who left the Likud party, back into the party by its July 10 membership drive deadline.
"The Likud is beginning a struggle to save the Likud from Omri [Sharon] and the [MKs recently appointed] deputy ministers," rebel leader Uzi Landau told the crowd. "You have to bring back into the party the best people who will bring the best person to lead the Likud."
Landau has told Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that he will run against him and Sharon for the Likud leadership unless Netanyahu leaves the government and starts taking an active role in the fight against disengagement.

EU president: Pullout is first step
European Parliament President Josep Borrell Fontelles expressed hope on Monday that the disengagement from the Gaza Strip would also be implemented in full in the West Bank.
Borrell told the Knesset Israel was making a "brave decision" by withdrawing from Gaza, but said the plan needed to be continued. "It is a necessary step that will have an impact on the settlements on the West Bank," he said.
"It is worth to pay this price," he added. He said that the benefit to Israel from disengagement would be paid back to it with "sizable interest."
