Monday, 2005_06_27, was declared protest day against Abu Omri's Deportation Plot.

Unlike many previous protests, this one was reported extensively. IsraPundit readers who use the news ticker (bottom of right-hand column) know about the reports by AP, Reuters and AFP. For example, AP reported under the heading "Israelis Line Highways to Protest Pullout" that

Tens of thousands of orange-clad activists lined major highways Monday in a nationwide protest against Israel's planned withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, disrupting traffic, shouting slogans and drawing noisy honks of support...

Reuters' headline read, "Gaza pullout opponents line Israeli roadsides", and AFP's headline averred, "Israeli motorists stage mass protest against Gaza pullout".

Additionally, World Net Daily ran an item entitled, "Tens of thousands slow traffic in Israel -- Drivers, demonstrators protest Gaza evacuation"; the article reported, inter alia, that

A senior Yesha leader told WND the police barred many vehicles from joining the protest.

"They pulled lots of cars and buses over and asked drivers where they were headed. They wouldn't let a lot of people deemed 'suspicious' onto highways."

Arutz 7 described the protest in a piece entitled, "´Stop a Moment and Think Again´ Protest Lines Highways", reporting that

The Yesha Council reports that 40,000 vehicles have pulled over to the side of the road and that more than 200,000 demonstrators are standing outside their cars along Israel’s highways to demand the government rethink the decision to expel 10,000 Jews from their homes in Gaza and northern Samaria.

Even al-Ha'aretz and JPost reported on the massive protest.

But is Abu Omri listening?
