London ex-chief cop: Bombers almost certainly British In an article published July 10, in the News of the World, Sir John Stevens asserts that many more British Muslims are similarly willing to attack. “It is wishful thinking to assume they came from abroad.” The former London Metropolitan police chief cites as examples the two British shoe bombers Richard Reid and Saajit Badat and the two British suiciders Asif Hanif and Omar Sharif who killed themselves in Israel. Up to 3,000 British-born or British-based people have passed through Osama bin Laden’s camps. Highly computer literate they are willing to kill without mercy and take a long time in the planning.
