So, when Ariel Sharon, despite everything, vouches for the supposedly "good intentions" of Mahmoud Abbas, he is doing precisely what Abbas needs for the strategy he authored to work. Why? Because no Israelis would believe that Mahmoud Abbas has "good intentions" if the Israeli government, instead of vouching for him, documented for the Israeli public who Mahmoud Abbas really is."
