Yellow is the right descriptive color to describe "yellow journalism," but make no mistake...this shade of yellow describes the media cowards who will not report with accuracy and integrity about Israel.

Yellow journalism is on the rise along with anti-Semitism. In fact, yellow journalism is fueling the fires of anti-Jew hatred. This brand of journalism-- planted in a spineless lack of journalistic integrity-- has many facets but two characteristics predominate: sensationalism and propaganda. Both are rampant now within the liberal Israeli and world media when they report the “disengagement” which is another name for deportation. Jewish settlers who wear orange as a symbol of their peaceful protests are certainly not finding favor within the liberal media anywhere.

The liberal Israeli press is now operating irresponsibly—and the world media is trailing right behind them--to paint the Jewish settlers in the worst light possible calling them “extremists” and worse. Their so-called reporting is so lopsided I think the reporters may fall over their steno pads and cameras. In the United States, I observe the same phenomenon in the liberal press when it comes to supporting our troops during time of war.

A little glance at history is telling. Here’s an excerpt from the United States WW II “Office of Strategic Services” which describes Hitler’s profile: “His (Hitler’s) primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.” This was taken from Joseph Goebbel’s propaganda handbook.

Does anything in this quote sound familiar? Could this describe the late Yassar Arafat? Osama bin Laden? Current Palestinian Prime Minster Abu Mazen? Now even Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon? The liberal media regarding their reporting about peace-loving Jewish citizens in Gaza?

I am a gentile who passionately supports Israel and the Jewish people. Yet, when I read and observe how the liberal Israeli press is covering the deportation of Jewish citizens, I am discouraged. Now more than ever the Jewish people need unity. Why am I punching my computer keyboard as hard as I can to write the truth when so many in the Land of Israel are vilifying their own people? I know all about democracy. I know all about free speech. I'm certainly grateful for it as a writer. Yet, sometimes free speech steps into the danger zone of treachery and betrayal.

Take the time to look at the following on-line video if you want a “visual” on what it will mean for the Israeli government to forcibly remove almost 10,000 Jewish citizens from Gush Katif along with a companion visual about the Palestinian terrorist culture. Please go to http://www.machonmeir.org.il/leumi/sakin_balev_english_300.wmv and download the video. It is simultaneously informative, chilling, and heartbreaking.

Yellow is surely not orange in Israel this summer.
