The following are the results of a poll of a representative sample of
500 adult Israeli Jews carried out by Smith Research and Consulting on 12-13 July 2005 for The Center For Near East Policy Research.
In a Knesset hearing on June 28th, 2005. former COS Ya'alon said that the Government did not consult with top army officials before it decided on the disengagement plan, and warned that the implementation of the plan would lead to an outbreak of terror.
On July 12th and 13th, 2005, Israeli citizens were polled:
Should the Knesset initiate a committee to investigate Yaalon's claims before the disengagement plan is implemented?
Total: Yes 52% No 44% No opinion 4%

What amazes and dismays me is the fact that "Boomerang" went right over the heads of Israelis without causing a ripple. "Boomerang" is in fact more of an indictment than Watergate. By comparison, Ya'alon's testimony is minor. Either way, Israelis are asleep while their country is being handed over to the enemy.
