Fox News

by Ted Belman

I have been watching Fox News this morning and was pleased with the coverage.

It was sympathetic to the settlers and described them in heroic terms.

It described another UN scandle that it had discoivered. UN funds are being used for political purposes rather than humanitarian assistance. The money goes to fund a campaign to recover Jerusalem and the West Bank for the Palestinians.

And here is the best part. FOX NEWS described the West Bank as disputed territory. This was one of the reasons it said that the UN shouldn't get involved.

To be fair, we must take into account the news corporation's desire to suck up to their advertisers.

Those of us who have the pleasure of receiving CNN-International, BBC World, and the International Herald Tribune--know full well that the Arab regimes are the main source of advertising revenue for the European Media. And that goes for the AP too.

Imagine how we feel when coverage of every bus-bombing in Israel is interupted by adverts for 'Beautiful Egypt", shopping in Dubai, or the Syrian Ministry of Tourism.

Nothin' personal----it's just business.

The Fox-NewsCorp folks should be OK, after all, they have Saudi Prince Al Alaweed as an investor.

Fox News Director Carl Cameron was responsible for penning some of the most anti-Israel pieces ever seen on US TV--including the "Israelis were behind 9-11" BS.

Other than that, the constipated delivery of their anchors really bothers me.

CNN? More like "PNN", or "Palestinian News Network"!

Yep, I heard that broadcast too. First time in years I've heard the correct terminology applied to the, well, uh, the "disputed" territories.

I guess you heard a program I didn't hear. I've been listening and all I heard was the
"extremists in the occupied territories". The coverage has been awful for a story of such magnitude. One woman in Aruba gets all day everyday and one anti-semitic woman in Crawford gets all day every day. Ayalon was on defending the actions of the Israeli government with no one from the anti-expulsion side....fair and balanced? I don't think so.

Hey Barbara
I'm with you. I am sick and tired of the Aruba story and the Crawford story.
