On the Deportation front

On the Deportation front

Tearful Jewish settlers locked gates at their communities, formed human chains and burned tires to block troops from delivering eviction notices Monday as Israel began to pull out from the Gaza Strip after 38 years of occupation...

At the isolated Morag settlement, hundreds of people blocked troops at the gate. One man, identified by Israeli media as Liron Zeidan, burst into tears as he pleaded with officers not to remove him from his home.

"I am not your enemy. I served as an officer under you," the man told Brig. Gen. Erez Zuckerman, commander of the army unit waiting at the gate. (AP)

At Ganei Tal, one of the larger settlements that was home to roughly 1,200 residents, hundreds gathered at the gates and blocked the entry of the evacuation teams. The soldiers did not force entry into the settlement, and were ordered by their commanders to turn back...

Inside the Neveh Dekalim gate, settlers distributed food to the media, fellow protesters – and to the soldiers, while outside the gate, a mixed group of residents and "reinforcements" had amassed a blockade of barbed wire, tires, dumpsters and trash. Settlers were preventing buses full of journalists from entering the settlements. JPost

For those in the military who are refusing to obey orders, this is one of the most difficult things a military person can ever do. Those who are doing so recognize that the orders are illegal and immoral. They and only they, can stop the disengagement at the last moment. Here in America, especially Christians, have joined hands in support. It's like a rolling snow ball, gathering speed and mass. Soldiers, men and women, privates and officers, are giving up their commissions and courses important in their advancement. If, because they fervantly believe that their cause is right, is it right to punish these heros? Keep it up and free up Gaza for those who G-d gave it.

One of the saddest days in Israel's history. And there are more to come! Pray.
