Sharon's Ranch

Sharon's Ranch

Sacrifices need to be made for peace and this includes the giving up of ones land and home. It is relatively easy for people in Tel Aviv to give up people’s homes in Gaza. The people in Gaza were far away and not the type of people that the people in Tel Aviv liked to associate with in any case.

Now there are a couple of thousand of people who need a place to lay their head and call home. They would like to stay together as a community. They need a large piece of land to do this on. It seems to me that Ariel Sharon’s ranch, often mentioned in the press, would be a perfect place. It seems that he did not actually pay for it himself but that it was paid for by foreign contributors and by banks forgiving debts therefore it should not be very painful to receive a full 60% of its value as the Jews from Gaza have received for their homes.

In light of the sacrifices for peace the people of Gaza are being forced to make (though how it leads to peace at all is not at all clear), it would seem that the least Ariel could do was let the people move onto his bonanza.

dmetz: Bravo! We should all e-mail this BennySug (old Navy term for Beneficial Suggestion) to the powers that be in Israel and Washington!
Also, send the column itself to all US newspapers; ditto, the Last Idiot in Israel (Yediot Achranot, that is); Haaretz, etc.,as well as TV and radio thre. AND: to Uzi Landau in the Knesset - he'll have fun with that.

For anyone who believes Sharon is a hero. He attacked right wing Zionist in the 40 s and is trying to build a casino at the cost of Jewish homeland. If someone was going to take my house for"peace" they would face double barrels!
