I definately approve this article; however I must admit that at this moment, my mind is on the Gulf Coast tragedy. It is truly heart breaking to see the beautiful New Orleans totally destroyed. Maybe hundreds or thousands dead, millions of homes destroyed, diseases are prevelent, survivors, who didn't get out, without water, food and other stuff just to survive. As I mulled over this, in a smaller arena, I think that I more fully understand how the wonderful settlers felt when they lost their homes and faced an uncertain future. Know that I am not over religious, but I worship G-d and love the land of Israel, when this thought struck me. Could this be G-d's way of punishing this country's drive to aid in the destruction of the land that G-d gave us Jews? Posted by: Ed D on September 1, 2005 01:40 AM
Michael Freund wants to compress a liquid. It will not happen. He writes "the Right must formulate a strategy aimed at forestalling any future retreats.". He completely misses Israel's domestic political order of battle. Portions of Likud and Shas are on the "right" but cannot "combine their efforts". America's "taxpayer protection pledge" is a failure. America's most dangerous tax is the Social Security (FICA) payroll tax. It will not be addressed again this year. The Social Security tax is so dangerous it eclipses America's loss of it's US flag merchant marine fleet. Regardless of America's "taxpayer protection pledge", entire industries are still relocating to Asia to avoid US taxes. Even the current gasoline price spikes incorporate hidden federal taxes. Israel will continue to yield territory to the barbarians. The political sides are not defined, let alone organized into political blocs. How can American Jews purchase homes in the mentioned areas? Israel's taxes, both direct and hidden, are worse than in the States. If Michael Freund really just wants money for continued political organizational failures, the former Deputy Director of Communications did not say this. As of 1 Sep 05 ce, buying a house in Israel is a bad investment. I once tried. Without a representative Jewish government, Israel will soon fall. Ed....the Holiest People on the planet were messed with. Katrina was no fluke. I felt the spiritual pain of Gush Katif. Posted by: Mary Hogan on September 1, 2005 08:28 AM
Sharon is the biggest traitor to the State of Israel. He's far worse than Rabin, Golda and Ehud Barak. He is the same filth as Shimon Peres. Sharon is illegally giving away Jewish land as if it was his own while stealing government land for his ranch. The atrocity perpetrated on Gush Katif is a war on orthodox Jewry, the observant Jews have been villified in the treasonous media and the residents there were brutally dragged from their homes and now will be left homeless. Now he wants to drive out the Jews from Judea and Samaria because these people are religious and he wants to start a civil war against religious Jews. The religious Jews are increasing in numbers and are tired of the bolshevik government system and want to have their say in the government but the leftist elitists will do anything including destruction of the state to keep from losing their power. The socialist elitists prefer giving the county to the Arabs just to keep the religious Jews from assuming power. Posted by: Uzi Kattan on September 1, 2005 07:22 PM Post a comment |
A Road Map For the Right
by Michael Freund
Hardly a week has passed since Gush Katif was emptied of its Jewish residents, and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is already promising more expulsions of Jews.
In a televised interview with Channel 10 broadcast Monday, Sharon made clear that he plans to uproot additional Jewish communities in the future. "Not all the settlements presently in Judea and Samaria will remain there," he said, adding that "the final map will be presented only at the last stage of negotiations."
So there you have it. Talks with the Palestinians have not even resumed and Sharon is already busy making concessions, effectively promising to dismantle further, as yet unnamed communities as part of a final deal.
As if this wasn't bad enough, Sharon has also done virtually nothing to counter the renewed terrorist onslaught launched by the Palestinians of late.
