Alienating their most loyal friends?Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry: Comments
Hey, non-Jewish friends of Israel! Not to worry! I'm Jewish, live in Jerusalem and I would have no complaints if the above-mentioned Israeli pols didn't show up in my Succa. And that's been my opinion since way before this made the news. Thanks for coming. Your encouragement is appreciated. Never forget the prophecy! Posted by: ShyGuy on October 30, 2005 02:04 AM
Is there a possibility that the political battle lines and political order of battle are not properly posted on the wall charts ? The business world has their acid tests and the military world has their indicators and warnings (I&W). Reinforcements usually get welcomed........WARMLY WELCOMED. Can we for a few minutes stop cuting down trees and sharpen the ax? I have a hunch the political battle lines and the political order of battle convey falsified information. Our heritage has passed to aliens, I have another absolute belief that alienating our most loyal friends is an indicator of Laminations' absolute reliability regarding indicators. I'm sure no snub is intended. Israel's leadership is in a State of Crisis over a new cabinet, terror concerns and Iran - and I've read that even the foreign Minsiter Shalom has cancelled his appearance at the UN where there is to be a vote on a World Holocaust Day. I am sure that our Christian friends will always recognise that they will always be welcomed in Israel the birth place of our two faiths. Posted by: Leonard on October 30, 2005 05:46 AM
As a Christian who humbly recognises and respects his elder brothers as the Sons of the Promise they are ... it gratifies my heart to read the above responses. I empathise with the bitterness of the Jew for the record of my forefathers is abysmal and inexcusable. Given the horrendous apostasy that passed for a church from 300AD to 1940 or so it is a great wonder and a testament to G-d's faithfulness that in this this latter day recognition of our debt to Israel and Jews of the diaspora ever came about. At least by some.

Scott, I say Omein(!) to what you have written. It is too true that centuries of abuse to the seed of Ya'akov, from persons obsessed with the false teaching of supercession (replacement theology), have given the Jews reason to doubt the sincerity of Christianity, in general. I praise G-d that I am seeing a remnant of the Church stepping forward, in unprecedented numbers, to embrace their Judaistic heritage and brethren. Whether these unbelieving leaders of Yisrael come forward to welcome lovers of their people, or not, is not really important. If you compare their unbelieving leaders to ours (U.S.), you simply find that politics and faith are too often incompatible. ShyGuy, a welcoming "hug" from Sharon would mean nothing to me, but a hug of welcome from one like yourself would bring me to tears of joy. It is with you and those like yourself, the people of G-d's heart, that I stand, and will stand. May bnei Yisrael know no more sorrow, and may they find and embrace every blessing of HaShem! they didn't alienate me and my wife (baptist christians from the american south). we just got back from pilgrimage to israel (8-16 october). we love and pray for israel. everyone there was very nice to us, jews, muslims, and christians alike, although occasionally almost surprised to see us (many asked us if we were british).
