Brigitte Gabriel of ACT Questions Sabeel Denver Conference
American Congress For Truth
For Immediate Release
Arab Christian Human Rights Advocate Brigitte Gabriel of American Congress for Truth Questions Truthfulness of Palestinian Conference to Turn Denver Christians Against Israel.
Date: October 20, 2005
Brigitte Gabriel, a prominent Christian Arab human rights activist and defender of Israel is cautioning Christians and Church leaders in the Denver area to not be taken in by what she sees as deceptive methods being used at the upcoming Sabeel Conference. The conference, titled "Ending the Silence Working for a Just Peace in Palestine and Israel " is taking place at the Montview Presbyterian Church in Denver In Friday October 21st and Saturday, October 22, 2005. Ms. Gabriel is supporting a local effort to protest the conference. Denver protest organizers ask people to assemble on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Noon in front of the church located at 1980 Dahlia Street.
Ms. Brigitte Gabriel is a Lebanese Arab and founder of American Congress for Truth (ACT). She is a survivor of the Palestinian and Muslim jihad waged against Christians in Lebanon. Ms. Gabriel speaks worldwide on the Arab/Israeli conflict. She is a frequent talk radio guest and opinion writer on these topics. For additional information on her media appearances and ACT.
As an Arab Christian Ms. Gabriel believes that the Christians in America should be focusing on the intimidation, blackmail, and persecution of Christian Palestinians by the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, Fatah and Al-Aqsa Martyrs brigade.
"The narrative offered by Sabeel and its founder, Naim Ateek, unfairly singles out Israel for condemnation in prolonging the conflict." Points out Ms. Gabriel. “Christians in the U.S. are right to be concerned about the suffering of the Palestinian people,” She says. “But Sabeel is not honest about the causes of this suffering. He condemns Israel for the suffering of the Palestinian people, when in fact; the Palestinian leaders and terrorists bear a huge portion of the blame."
"Those who call for a two-state solution have an obligation to ensure that the Palestinian State be capable of living in peace with its Israeli neighbors. What chance is there for that when they can't get along with each other and continue to publicly shift blame on Israel for all their problems. More Palestinians have been killed this year by Palestinians than Israelis."
Gabriel warns.
“The withdrawal from Gaza demonstrates that peace won’t happen without substantial changes in Palestinian Society. It’s time for churches in the U.S. to start calling for these changes and quit blaming Israel for its efforts to defend itself from terror attacks.”

If there is censorship on this site I do not agree with it. I do not agree with censorship on the net. Except perhaps somebody just sets out to destroy a site. But all arguments should be taken and should be answered in words. Ideas will prevail.
The analysis of the Arab position which I favour is that "Palestinianism" was founded on the basis of Jew-hatred with links to Nazism. See Francisco Gil Whites researches on Hajj Amin el Husseini on www.tenc.net
If this is true my starting point is different to Ms Gabriel in that this phenomenon cannot be reformed. It must be confronted and destroyed by political means. In these issues emphasis is everything.

I am not sure about what "t" is complaining, but I most assuredly would have removed his comment (#1 above). The "comment" posted by "t" is wall to wall profanity and has no place on IsraPundit's pages.

What is going on here? Joseph I grant you that point. The guy certainly used profanities but was something he said cut out or off, what was it, when was it, why was it?
About 10 days ago I had 2 comments and they did not go though, I saw on the screen a note to the effect they would be studied first (though I forget the words). On the same visit I made a number of comments which went through automatically, one of which on Yugoslavia raised some discussion. I then came down with a heavy flu and I did not follow it up. My political line is clear enough and I do not use profanities. I put it down to a system foul-up and still suspect so.
I have a reason for this concern. I have serious differences with some on this site and if there is a whiff of censorship I am off.

I have no knowledge of any comments spcifically censored. Nor do I know how to do it if I wanted.
But we do have a blacklist program that prevents spam comments being accepted. We have so far rejected over 100,000 such comments so you can see just how big the problem is.
We also make use of Typekey.
I am looking into whether other comments might be held for approval or deleted. I will report back.
